I def. look for personaltiy over looks, cause i've been cast aside by one too many jekrs cause i did't have the "look", so i would never do that to a really nice guy...

They gotta have a sence of humor and have decent morals.

As far as physical goes, i love facial hair.. and just a general good upkeep of your body, ya know? Lets keep up w/ the hygeine guys!!

No, I dont even look for cuteness first. I make sure that they are nice. That's such a huge thing. LOL And that he has the same sense of humor as me. Or at least understands mine!

I look at the eyes first if they catch my attention then I look at the personnality. Not to sound shallow just i look into peoples eyes all the time.

Honestly, overall looks initially. If someone appears grotesque to me, of course I'll move on regardless. I may be missing out on a great guy, but...

But the man does not have to be gorgeous, just clean and at ease with himself.

After that first impression, the personality is definitely the most important.

Hands

This is what I look for in a girlfriend. Looks arn't a big deal for me,but they must dress nice and clean. This is what I look for: they have to like me for what I am and not what I look like, They have to share similar intrests, they have to be a person that I can hang out with and have fun with,nice, easy to talk to and they must have good values. Also they must have a good personalty.

hmmm what do I look for in someone... um yeah. Personality totally. My ex-boi I just thought he was cute but he was such an ******* and broke my heart. But I look for personality (which he didn't have), someone who isn't very serious and has a big sense of humor. Guys who spend a long time getting ready and look preppy and ****, no thats not my type. But yeah they need to be attractive in my opinion I'm not gonna like go out with someone who looks horrible.

I have this preference.... there are people who are really preety (Christine Baranski) but then there are people I LOVE (Catherine Zeta-Jones)... it's odd.

Looks...eyes...I love big, big, big eyes. My friends call my boyfriend, "Sexy Eyes" cause...well, that's what he has;)

Ok, being my age(I have been around a while!) I am convinced that personality/character is much more important than looks for a good relationship. My husband is no Paul Newman but he has personality plus! What attracted me to him initially was his sense of humor. And he is the MOST honest person I know! No bull s-----r he!:lol:

for me personality is the biggest thing. i want a girl who is nice and all but not afriad to stand up for herself if someone says something. yea i need the girl to like me(which is rare for me because i hold nothing back most of the time;) )intelligence is a big part of the personality i look for. i am known as "the smart guy" but i don't need the girl; to be a rocket sicentist just not a bimbo. o and they have to like at least some of the same things as me and preferably not drink

Obviously, in a long-term relationship, your partner has to have an appealing personality otherwise they'd be impossible to live with. But it's been proven by many a scientific test that first impressions are lasting impressions, so naturally a person's appearance is the first thing you notice about them.
It's also true - and I dare anyone to disprove this theory - that to be in a relationship with someone you have to find them attractive....but you don't necessarily have to find them to be great company. I know loads of girls who have dated guys cos they are drop-dead gorgeous (their words - not mine) even though they have crap personalities. However, I've never known any girls who have dated unattractive guys even though they had nice personalities.
I'm guilty of this - I know lots of really nice girls but if I don't find them attractive then I don't even bother with them.
But back to the original question - things that I find attractive in a woman are -

* her figure - I like thin women
* short hair - I think the majority of women look better with short hair. I also prefer brunettes over blondes
* I prefer women who are more feminine that myself - I don't like it when they're really girly cos I don't want to be with a women who just talks about make-up and shopping all day, but I don't want to be stuck with really 'boyish' girl either
* eye colour - it's not a huge factor but there's something about dark brown eyes that makes me melt
* smile - it sounds cheesy but I like a girl who makes me smile just by smileing herself
* skin - I like people with pale skin, I find that much more attractive than fake tans (let's face it - there's no sun in Scotland so all tans here have to be fake!!)
* height - I'm not particularly tall myself so I have a bit of an issue with everyone being taller than me. I'm almost 5ft6 - I wouldn't really like being with a chick who was any taller than 5ft8

I do agree with Ms Conan though - if you find yourself attracted to a person they do start to look better. There is one woman in particular who I quite like at this moment. I'll admit that she's not beautiful in the traditional sense of the word but she's very intelligent and she's also a great laugh. Both these factors combined make me see her in a different light.

hmm, personality mostly but looks help..

looks wise id prefer he wasnt too tall (since im too short), darker hair, and somewhat good looking.

personality wise he'd have to be able to laugh, but be serious sometimes too, i dont want him to be overly sensitive but he has to understand me and understand that sometimes im a little out there, sometimes a little moody, and sometimes i dont sleep for days on end. ;) he'd have to like GWTW and thats not negotiable. he's also have to be a christian, be able to hold an intelligent conversation, not fight with me over politics or life in general because im pretty opinionated, and like cats.

I go for personality. I mean, I might like the way a guy looks, but I won't love them because of their looks. If the guy has a sucky personality, it's not worth it. I agree with MsConanOBrien that if you like them (for their personality) they will become better looking to you. That's happened to me before... :)

Personality- a nice one would be great. im not into guys with fifty million tatoos or have their tounge pierced. maybe one or 2 tatoos & their ears pierced, but i couldnt deal with more than what i have. I want a guy to be sweet, but i dont want a guy so sweet that i can't breathe. Romantic is nice and alot of fun is a good factor. Nice clothes is a plus & he has to smell nice!! oooo man i can still smell my one guy friend today! No smokers or alcholics

Well, I had thought, at first, that they had to be a version of me with Estrogen! (Tall, Blonde hair, Thin, the whole third-reich thing!) But, I realized, if they are a nice and have a good personality (and the perfect cup size, and almost no butt, :D) they're perfect! (If they're European!)

Personality is very important but looks are somewhat important too. I would want somebody that is just really nice and...friendly ;) I would want somebody that is pretty good looking cause mainly that would reflect on how she feels and how I feel. I would want somebody with a nice face mainly. But I mainly would want somebody that I really like for whatever reason.
