I'm a newbie :wave: and I just found this site last night. I realize that taping off of TV and selling the tapes is technically illegal :rolleyes: but do you know of anyone that sells them as "collector to collector"? What other verbage do they use to identify these types, rather than sifting through thousands of VHS tapes?

I did buy some from off of eBay recently, but still the pickin's are slim. I'm more interested in sitcoms from the 50's and 60's. We don't have cable access, but what we do have is a limited income.

Someone offered to sell me 49 episodes from "The Land of the Giants" for $95.00. Is that the going price for taped-off-of-TV stuff? I thought that was a bit steep, but maybe I have my head in the sand.:(

that price does seem steep to me, especially considering 'Land of the Giants' was on national TV until a few months ago. That's IMO at least.
