TVFactFan 02-02-2003, 06:35 PM I normally don't watch this show but i'm kind of bored today and i have it on the TV. But i noticed during the opening credits there was a blooper as clear as day and before i say what the blooper is I want to know if anyone else noticed it.

Just watch the opening credits again and watch closely and you should notice it.
jon123 02-05-2003, 02:14 AM OK, Solomon, I watched the credits very closely and I don't know what you're talking about. Will you let the cat out of the bag?

I watched very closely too. I'm gonna feel like a true dingbat if its a really big blooper that is right under my nose.

Ok the Blooper in the opening credits is when they are showing the outisde of Archie's Bnker's Place, they show the hours of business for ABP which is written on the bench and it says 9am to 4am instead of 9am to 4pm. I know Archie wasn't working 16 hours-LOL

Ermsies it can't be until 4pm. They were there later than that. Archie didn't have to be there the entire time.

Anyway you look at it, the hours of business were odd. 9am to 4am?-That's almost 24 hours-LOL-
TV Guy 02-06-2003, 12:55 AM If you visit New York City, you'll notice that there are a lot of bars that are open almost round the clock. You'll be hard-pressed to find a bar that closes before 2:00 am (or one that closes at 4:00 in the afternoon!), that's for sure.
AITF and ABP several times showed Archie getting up at 11:00 am after working a late night. I assume that Archie, Harry, and Murray took turns working the graveyard shift.

That's not a blooper at all. If you visit New York City, you'll notice that there are a lot of bars that are open almost round the clock. You'll be hard-pressed to find a bar that closes before 2:00 am (or one that closes at 4:00 in the afternoon!), that's for sure.
Well I guess I have to say I was wrong, I just thought it was supposed to say 4pm. I just knew that a bar couldn't be open that long.

:) I'm guessing that you're under 21. I'm pretty sure I would have said the same thing before I hit drinking age. In Boston, last call at the bars is no later than 2:00 am, and friends visiting from New York always complain about how early we go to bed on weekends.

No i'm not under 21, i just thought that was a lot of hours for a bar to be open-THE END.
DarleneIllyria 02-06-2003, 02:10 AM I have to admit that I don't know a lot about bars in real life. Opening at 9 a.m. seems a bit strange, but since Archie Bunker's Place was a bar and a restaurant, I guess that could explain the 9 a.m. thing. Idk.
Yeah, I'm under 21 so I'm a bit clueless about bars. lol

That's the same thing i was saying Jenny, 9am as a start time? When you just closed 5 hours ago? So Archie should have had enough money to have another bar by the 3rd season if ABP was open 16 hours on a daily basis. Plus where I live, bars close at 2am and open in the evening, not in the morning.
TV Guy 02-06-2003, 09:07 PM New York City is definitely a different animal, and there are quite a few places that keep these kinds of hours (yes, even in the mornings!). I'm sure these hours must seem strange if you're not familiar with the bar scene there. As for the bar itself, Archie's Place wasn't full very often, so I guess we're to assume that it was only moderately profitable, despite the hours.
Nedrta 02-07-2003, 04:54 PM Does the outside shot of the bar conform well with what's on the inside?
AITF & ABP ROCK!! 02-08-2003, 07:12 PM The whole 9am - 4am thing is right because in the episode "Archie And The Ambush", if I recall someone metioned that it was 3:00 in the morning.
Joeytrom 10-16-2003, 11:32 AM Bars in New York close at 4am. Neighborhood bars do open at 9am here and close at 4am. They have more then one person to handle the shifts during the day, usually three or four.
This is to handle people who drinks at various times of the day and to sell as many drinks as possible to generate a profit.
By the way...there are nightclubs in NY which will open on Saturday at 11pm, stop serving drinks at 4am (by law) and remain open until 6pm Sunday evening!

sm95fan 08-09-2024, 08:12 PM There was a real blooper in Billie where Denise Miller appeared on both the beginning and ending credits.
