Do you know that around 5000 people who registered here have NEVER posted?!?!! Why bother registering if you're never gonna post? I think if they haven't posted within a year of registering they should be deleted. Then again, it does make the member list look a lot bigger.

I knew about that. One reason I think people register but never post is because they need to do so in order to have full access to all the features besides posting (getting a member's profile, searching the boards, looking through other's posts, etc). Another possibility is that they register, lurk but don't post, then leave.

Geez, has it been that long? I can't remember if I could browse the board without registering. I must've been able to look. If I didn't get the chance to see something, I would've never registered. I'm confusing myself again. Crap.

I may not be the most frequent poster here, but I do hold the coveted postion of NUMBER ONE poster on PAGE NINE!!

Damn, this post probably bumped me to the bottom of page 8! I will prevail! I will conquer page 8!

Yeah. I think they should be deleted if they never post. It's not right if someone wants to use a certain username and can't have it because someone who never posts already has it. I'm sure a lot of these people who don't post or visit the boards probably forgot that they even registered in the first place.

On December 5, 2001, TJ switched the board software to Vbulletin. Before then, people could post without registering (in certain forums).

I remember those days...Believe it or not, I was around here back then, I never posted but I was there, the boards looked so...Different...

Back on topic. I think TJ should delete old usernames that aren't used, especially those from before 2001. There may be a lot smaller Member list, but a lot more people will get the Names they desire.

Yeah, ditto. A lot of those people probably don't even remember that they have usernames on this board. That's ridiculous...

Ah, thank you for clearing that up. I was here before he switched them over.

Well, now that I've been cleared up let me give my take on the members that have 0, 1, 2, etc posts. I don't know but some people might look at the member list too. If they see a bunch of people that have 0 posts, it might drive some of them away. Good God, this board must suck if all these people never post. I'm outta here.

TJ could start sending out emails for all the members that haven't posted in a long time. "You're account is being deleted. You must post at least X amount of times within the next 5 days or I will delete your account." Idk, something like that. Hell, I say go ahead and delete the ones that have 0 posts that registered way back in 2000 or something.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

what is the point of registering if you aren't going to post?
