from the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER:
NBC is mulling the idea of a four-hour miniseries based on the history
of "American Bandstand".
The project is in the early stages of development, with no writer
attached. But presumably it would tell the musical tale of the
long-running dance show, which made Dick Clark famous, as it grew up
with the rock 'n' roll era.
After starting as a local TV show in Philadelphia in 1952, "Bandstand"
went nationwide in 1957 on ABC.
NBC already is in business with Clark on the Sunday-night drama series
"American Dreams" which revolves around a Philadelphia family whose
eldest daughter is a "Bandstand" dancer.
