Anybody remember these brief slides that showed up after the grid appeared, one square at a time, at the end of the third part of the show? Let's see if I remember these correctly:

Season 1's clip showed the famous nine square grid (live)

Seasons 2 and 3 showed the famous "staircase" still-shot (starting with Cindy at the top, down to Mike at the bottom)

Season 4 was a still-shot of the group sitting at the bottom of the staircase landing

Season 5 was a live shot with the bunch standing at the back of the staircase landing

The "We'll be right back" announcement for season 1 was done by an unknown announcer. For the other four seasons, the statement was made by whichever Brady had the spotlight for the storyline (I.E. Mike Lookinland made the annoucement in the "Law And Disorder" episode, Barry Williams from "Greg Gets Grounded", and so forth)

Great memory!

I remember these bumpers well. They were left in the syndication prints for stations to use in the 1970s and early 1980s, but Paramount eventually cut them (when editing out other scenes for extra commercial time).

I believe the second season "we'll be right back" bumper also used the (updated) Brady grid, though. The staircase shot was used for the "In Color" bumper before the opening credits during the first and second seasons. Once the "In Color" bumper was dropped, the staircase shot was moved to the "we'll be right back" bumper.

I remember everyone sitting on the landing for the fourth season bumper, but I would definitely like to see the "standing landing" shot for the fifth season again.

Actually, the exact words spoken by the kids for the "bumper" sequences were:

"The Brady Bunch Will Return in a Moment."

Are these on the Columbia House/Paramount uncut tapes? I was told that the 1st season "In Color" stillprints were restored. (and I think they used this for Season 2, yes or no?)

If a DVD edition comes out with all 117 episodes (I don't have a DVD player yet) we can be fairly certain that all or most of the extras such as these would be included.

The "In Color" bumpers have been restored on the Columbia House tapes (they were originally used for the first two seasons). But the "return" bumpers are not included on the tapes. However, the music used for the second season "In Color" bumpers is the same (minus two notes) as the music used for the "return" bumpers during seasons two through five. So at least you can get an idea of what the "return" bumpers were like.
