These are just my opinions so please don't crucify me.:D

1.George should've maintained his edginess throughout the entire length of the show. He just got too soft by the end.

2.They should've written off the original Lionel instead of replacing him.

3. Jessica should've been born white. Imagine George having to deal with a white grandchild!

4.Archie and Edith should've been apart of a few episodes. Especially considering Edith and Louise were such good friends.

5. Florence should've started dating George's brother Henry.

Any thoughts?

I like all of them. I completely agree. I was watching a Christmas episode from I believe the last, or season before the last, and George still seemed pretty feisty, but yeah, totally toned down from the early years. I don't know off hand, but was there a writers change? Why did they suddenly change George overnight. Louise seemed much more layed back as well. The last season, to be honest, was awful. It was not the same. 10 seasons would have been enough, IMO. I love the show, but it just went on a little too long. Franklin Kover, and Paul Benedict were just so scary to look at by then. I mean, I know I probably sound like I'm 2, but it was just so weird. They were really starting to show their age, and it was clear the cast was tired.

I agree with all the recommendations except for Jenny's baby being born white. It would have been rich story material but the audience couldn't accept George not being nice to his grandchild. Even Archie never took out his frustrations on a poor baby.

All the other recommendations were on the mark. Definetely Archie and Edith should have been in a few episodes. Henry was only mentioned once on the Jeffersons when his son Gary Coleman came to visit, and having him not be married (he wasn't on AITF) and dating Florence would be a great twist! And the producers should have worked out a deal for Mike Evans to stay and maybe just appear in a few episodes instead of replacing him.

Also, I'm going to ask this question again-can we replace the picture on this board with one that includes the real Lionel?!

These are my reasons I lost interest as the seasons went on.

1.George weight gain
2.George became nicer
3.addition of jessica
4.No more visits from Louise and George friends from Harlem
5.Too much Mr.Bentley
6. New Lionel

Here is what they could have done with The Jeffersons:

They could have develop Lionel and Jenny's marriage. There could have been some good storylines with them and their interactions with their famililes.
Kept the edginess from the first season throughout the series. The first five years of the show was the funniest. After the sixth season it was going downhill.
It could have improved by pulling the plug after six years.
