Okay...we all know why Carroll O'Connor did not appear in two full episodes of AITF (and appeared at the end of the third) at the beginning of the 1974-75 season. And Sally didn't appear in four episodes in 1975 (because she wanted to break her contract and had a blow-up with Carroll O'Connor). I'm not quite sure what particular episodes they are...I read about this in the 'Archie, Edith, Mike and Gloria book.
Anyway, there are later episodes where Jean and Carroll or one or the other is not shown. For instance, in "Mike the Pacifist", Jean is not there--was she sick, on vacation?) And in "New Years Wedding" Carroll and Jean are not there either. Were they both sick or on vacation? I think they're might be other episodes where Sally didn't show up (after all the fuss in the 1974-75 season). Were they dilerately written out of the episode, because they knew they couldn't be there that week, or were they just written out because they weren't needed in that episode?
