I don't remember seeing the very first episode of Family Matters but i was wondering was there any reference made to Perfect Strangers since it was a spinoff such as Harriet old job, Larry or BaLKI? If someone seen this episode please let me know.

Well I have seen the pilot, but not the original airing. The second episode is about Harriette losing her job at the Chronicle. Read about the first 2 eps here:

Pilot. Mother Winslow moves into the household and tries to run things, even Carl and Harriette's son, Eddie. Cameos by Mark Linn-Baker and Bronson Pinchot (not seen in syndication).

#2 "Two-Income Family"
Can the family survive when Harriette loses her elevator operator job at the Chicago Chronicle?

I'll be honest, I don't even remember seeing that during the original run. Maybe I missed the first few minutes of the show.
