View Full Version : Friends Looking to Add Ethnic Actress

Columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith report that NBC's Friends, which has taken lots of knocks through the years for being a white-bread show, is looking to add a shot of diversity.

The series is apparently looking to bring in a character for several episodes - a paleontologist who'll be a potential love interest for Ross (David Schwimmer) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) - and the show is making it clear it's seeking an ethnic actress.

All races and ethnicities are being considered for the part, says the duo, and they will be looking at African-American, Latino, Asian, Middle Eastern and/or American Indian women for the part.

Didn't they already do an episode where two of the guys fought over the same girl, who happend to be an "ethnic" woman?

yes they did. she was african-american.it was a while back.

Yeah, there was that Thanksgiving where Joey and Chandler both competed for the Dutch woman during touch-football...

No, I believe there was an episode where two of the guys were interested in the same girl who was African American.

Season 7, when Monica buys the wedding dress she wants but has to give it back to get the band Chandler wanted. Ross and Joey fight over a black girl who moved in across the street.
