Due to TV Land's decision not to air any episodes that have to do with a bomb, they're skipping over episode 142 "Lady and the Bomb". I would have loved to see this one because Fish makes a special guest appearance, and it's the one where Ripner wins the libel suit against Harris. I think this is the one where Harris goes out and comes back drunk to the precint, but it might be the "Liquidation" episode (I hope).

depressing, isnt it. :( they did finally air ep #2 - experience, which dealth with a bomb in the squad room, but they are skipping way to many kick tail eps.

ive been searching for another canadian to snag them for me, but i keep coming up dry :(

Luckily, it was the Liquidation episode where Harris gets drunk. Ron Glass delivered quite a performance. I was surprised to hear him say the N word, but I think I recall George Jefferson say it too on The Jeffersons.
The closing scene with the guy in the cage singing happy tunes and Harris holding his head was great.

Yeah, that was quite an episode. Harris's attitude, including jumping down Wojo's neck, was intense. Harris asked Barney when he was leaving to go to court to please have the singing guy gone before 4:00 o'clock, when he was due back.
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant--Ouch, lol.

Harris using the N word caught me off guard, too. It just didn't seem like something he'd say. But then he was drunk, of course. Even in the episode dealing with race relations (where those two cops shot at Harris because he was black) that word never came up.

And speaking of that singing guy, he also played Jacques Renault on another of my favorite shows, Twin Peaks.

I'm amazed at the familiar faces I see on Barney Miller. I can't always place them, but I know I've been seeing them all through the years. Good use of character actors. Some even hit the big time.

I love seeing James Cromwell all the time! He's an actor I like a lot, and I'm always happy to see him on Barney Miller. I liked him as the disgruntled sketch artist. He was great as Stretch on All in the Family, too.

Yeah, he's a cool guy. It's great seeing Doris Roberts make a few appearances too. I also saw her make a guest appearance on All in The Family.
A. Martinez shows up too. He was sort of famous a few years back.

I'm amazed at that too! I'm not really a TV conosseiur, but I do see faces that are familiar pop up all the time.

Here's a bit of trivia: Which Oscar-nominated actor made an appearance on BM? Answer: David Paymer. I really enjoyed his performance in Mr. Saturday Night (that's the movie that got him nominated for Best Supporting Actor) on which he convincingly potrays an age range from 20 to 75. Funny thing is that the BM episode in which he appeared came and went and I didn't even recognize him! I found out later when I re-watched the episode on one of my tapes. He looked just like a kid! (he was a kid).

The episode is "Guns".

Really?? Cool! I didn't know that! Thinking back about he's appearances in BM, I can see how that's totally appropriate since he's pretty versatile.

Not quite an Oscar, but Doris Roberts won an Emmy for her portrayal of Marie Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond.
Hal Linden won a Tony for the play The Rothschilds.
