Does anyone know what is going on with Sharon Stone? Is she blacklisted? The Hollywood papers are really putting her down. I find that shameful. I like her. :(

Oh good, another chance to rip apart a movie star. Thanks Jen!

A few things have happened to derail Miss Stones career:

Bad movies - Let's face it, not all of her flicks have been hits. I don't care how popular you are, if you keep making movies that don't bring in the bucks, eventually the powers that be in Hollywood will stop returning your calls.

Married a rich guy - Like Jane Fonda, Sharon married a rich guy (also with a bad mustache) turned her back on Hollywood and became a socialite rather than an actress. Now I don't like to generalize, but I would think a rich tycoon would rather have his glamourous wife on his arm at some dinner party, rather than travelling the globe making movies.

Age- Sad to say it, but the movie biz worships youth, particularly when it comes to actresses. Fewer roles are being written for starlets over forty. I'm sure Miss Stone keeps getting offers for roles, but she's not going to be offered the ingenue part anymore. That is probably a tough pill to swallow for someone who was one of Hollywood's sex symbols.

She's wacky - Did you see her presenting at the Golden Globes?

Tha being said, I think she should try to downplay her glamour image, and by that I don't mean do a Halle Berry and star in a gritty indie film like "Monster's Ball," I'm talking about comedy. She showed great comic flair in Albert Brooks' "The Muse," so maybe a comedy should be next on her list.

This concludes today's lecture.
Tomorrow I will discuss what the heck is wrong with Stallone.

I don't care if Sharon is old, she's still hot. I liked her in the movies Basic Instinct, Action Jackson, The Specialist, Quick & The Dead. Sliver was stupid & so was Total Recall. Ya'll remember her as Steven Seagal's wife in Above The Law? Pam Grier was in Above The Law BrianDamage.

Yeah I know. :D

Getting back to Sharon though, she is trying to make a comeback in movies, but she said in an interview, that she isn't recieving as many offers as she thought she would.

Thanks TJL....... She is still a beautiful woman. Like you said she needs to be looking at other kinds of roles. Goldie Hawn is older than Sharon & she got to play one of those Bangor sisters.

She puts her BANGS in front of her face & is always hiding her face. She gets over.........

I LOVED her in Casino, and then she began to just let me down. Poor girl...made such terrible career choices.

I really liked Gloria-I was watching it for Bonnie Bedelia so pretty much I only saw one scene, but from what I saw it was great. :D

She WAS a wackjob at the Golden Globes. There was nothing graceful or ladylike about her. She acted like a guy. Richard Gere was giving an acceptance speech, and she was mugging it up for the cameras, trying to steal the limelight.
She was a 2-hit wonder. Basic Instinct and Casino.
She must have had one incompetent agent because she was once young, beautiful, talented and in demand.
Lucky for her, she married rich.

I don't like her and I can't pinpoint why.

She is one of those people, no matter how attractive, that actually turns me off.

I guess part of it is her showboating attitude and her ultra-feminist when it suits her situation nonsense.

God knows she must have pissed enough people off not to be too surprised she is not finding much work or adoration.

Lucky for her, she married rich. She made another small film called Scissors which I liked. I also thought she kicked Arnold Schwartnegger's be-hind pretty good.

Sharon Stone just seems to have this attitude that she should always have something handed to her. Basic Instinct was her only real hit.Not even Casino did that well at the Box Office.

Basic Instinct put her on the map...with that famous
crotch shot.
You're right about Casino not doing well at the Box Office, but it did earn Sharon Stone an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
I liked Casino a lot. I don't know why it misfired. She delivered a great performance along with Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci.

Lots of folks thought "Casino" was like a bad sequel to "Goodfellas." It had the same style and actors of the first, but it wasn't as good as the original.

After I watched Casino what was impressed on me the most was how disloyal, untrusting, and devious these 3 main charcters were. Just really unlikeable people.
Deniro couldn't trust his best friend or his wife (wow was she the worst), everyone was stabbing each other in the back, and there was this general negative feeling to everything. A real dirty and gloomy picture.

I remember after watching it, my roomates at the time came home and asked me what I thought, and I said, "It makes me want to take a shower and wash this filth off of me."

I don't even think Sharon deserved an Oscar nomination for Casino. I think she over acted in the film.

I'm behind the eightball and the latest gossip news about Sharon Stone. It isn't unusual for an actor or an actress to fall into a slump and then come out smelling like a rose later on. It happens all the time. If she was a twit at the oscars or whatever, so what. I doubt that that has much to do with her acting ability or her ability to get a role. I've liked nearly everything I've seen her in. There are people who are as demented as the character she played in Casino. I've had the displeasure of living in the same house with a couple of them. Believe me, she didn't overact, lol. She did a remarkable job of going nuts. That's not easy to do.
