It used to do that to me and someone else I know here. If you use AOL and it won't let you log in, try using Internet Explorer and then it'll work.

I think the beginning of the Classic Rock Era would have to come at the arrival of the Beatles and the British Invasion in 1964. Catchy songs that stand the test of time. All that half & half cool/geek thing really worked well, even my older brother and his friend were impressed. I saw them a year later opening for Ted Nugent with AC/DC!!!!! Weeks later after seeing them open for KISS, I was at it, taking my guitar and imitating Rick Nielson's moves right in front of the t.v. airing The New Mickey Mouse Club with Lisa on it...if she saw that, she WOULD HAVE BEEN impressed as well!!!!:D

I think the beginning of the Classic Rock Era would have to come at the arrival of the Beatles and the British Invasion in 1964. The cut-off period would most likely be around the fall of 1991 with the arrival of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Seattle "grunge" and alternative bands supplanting "pop" metal and other genres in the early '90's. Even though Pearl Jam's "Ten" album came out in 1991, and though they often sound "retro", the rise of Pearl Jam was the BEGINNING of a new trend and sound in rock that continues till now.

Now you guys know I LOVE Nirvana, but these guys are by no means "classic rock." I won't deny for a second that "smells like teen spirit" is a awesome, killer, absolutely great song. But it is NOT classic rock. Did people vote for stuff to be on this list? If so, they need to take a closer look at what countdown they were voting on. I dont consider anything from the late 80's and the 90's classic rock. Geez people. Get it together!

But this list is great. I love the amount of Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks songs. I thought at leat ONE Fleetwood Mac song on that Hard Rock list. At least Go Your Own Way could've made the top THOUSAND.

Ugh, I hated his version when it first came out. My dad listens to classic rock, and I had heard the Guess Who's version plenty of times. I remember thinking, my gosh what has this man done to this song?!?! It sucks. He took a really great rock song, and made it *chokes* pop. Ewwwww:faint:

I thought the KISW list was very different from the way they usually had it in years past, when they made it much like this one with KZOK. KISW's list in December contained a lot of good L.A. pop-metal songs (I don't like to call it "hair" metal), but they over-saturated it with Metallica and clusters of "nu-metal" bands, etc., all in a row. Anyone notice they had about 5 Tool songs back to back? Same with Red Hot Chili Peppers. They overkilled it with
"flavor-of-the-month" nu-metal, punk-pop, etc. and didn't play enough Classic Rock artists, like the Doors, etc. In this past year KISW really pandered to the young crowd. I wonder what it's gonna be like this year.

Thats one of my favorite U2 songs. Dave Grohl played the drum part for this song a couple of times at Nirvana concerts, although I dont believe he nor Kurt ever sang the lyrics to it.

Funny that PF wasn't really known much for anything than being a former guitarist for Humble Pie; like KISS his first few studio albums weren't very well recognized--UNTIL "Frampton Comes Alive!" came out and made live albums mandatory for every band and performer in the '70's (all because of KISS "Alive!"--funny, he's borrowing from their album name!!")--and he was a HUGE star for the next few years--until his sucky "I'm In You" album bombed and ended his stardom. He continued--and still does--tour, has thinning hair and glasses, but his guitar playing on this album is top-notch. :cool: And how about that talkbox!!

This is a great song. I prefer the anthology version. I like the simpler versions of songs.
