Ok, does NE1 kno how to make it so u don't get that annoying thing that says "Are you ready to sign off?" B/C I'm downloading Chicago and I don't wanna have it sign off in the middle of the night...so I was wondering if NE1 knew how to make it just let me stay on all night. B/C if I don't, that thing will come up after I'm away for 20 minutes and then sign me off.

When it says that "When your ready to sign off" Does it say a Yes or No button? If it does, Just hit theNo i'm not ready to sign off yet then everything should be okay. wish you luck

What AOL do you have? That used to happen to me with like 4.0 and 5.0 but I have 6.0 now and it never comes up.

I'm doing the same thing! :lol: I have 6.0 so it doesn't do that.

There used to be a program you could download and use to keep that from happening. I'll see if I can find it.

I found it. I used to use the one at the bottom of the page (when I had AOL) called 'WizOn', but that was a long time ago. So try the one at the top of the page. Hope it works.

I think the reason it happens to some is that when the access number you called into is really full, it will then display that message to you so that if you're away from the computer you will be signed off then so others get a chance to come on.... Thats what Tech Support told me when I was gettin those messages, Though since then Ive changed access numbers and haven't had the messages...

Are we talking about a video file? 'Cause if it was an AVI file you won't be able to see any of it until you download a codec for Windows Media Player. If this is the problem let me know.

Go to the link below and click on # 2 in the folder. Yes, it says (Austrailia) next to it, but earlier I couldn't get # 1 to work. Anyway, after you download that run the setup wizard and re-open Windows Media Player. You should see your AVI file if you got the whole file downloaded.

Hi, i have a question to about AOL and chat rooms ..What should I do when people talk about u and stuff in the chat? I think it's pretty childish on what they do....cuz it's just a computer.
But at this point i'm getting tired of it basically and when i go online, i've been blocking everyone except for my boyfriend at night time! Please help me Thanxs

I haven't had aol since 6.0, but I'm sure you can still report people. ....Or if you wanna take things into your hands download one of those programs to punt those people with. Of course, you still could get reported yourself, but if they're annoying you that much I'd do it. :lol: I never got reported, but that's just me. If you don't feel like getting even that way just report them to AOL. I think it's still Keyword: TOS.

Do you have Winzip? You need it to open the file so you can install it.

Hi thanxs for the advise, i havnt been going in the same chat room in a while..I have been going in differnt chat rooms,and there are alot of nicer people lol How do u punt someone out? I mean i never heard of that..could u explain it to me a little bit!

It's a program you download and it works with aol. It's pretty self-explanitory when you use it. You can also send email bombs like 100 emails well it will send one email and after they delete that one they'll keep getting another and another. I did it to myself once..it's really annoying. :lol: But punters like FateX (which is what I used-I really just liked the scrambler program that came with it) are illegal on AOL. I'm not trying to get you in trouble or so you'll lose your account or anything I'm just letting you know. The safest way is just do what you're doing. And don't forget you can always report those peeps to AOL. Keyword: TOS.

Yeah, it's like our name is rare or something. :lol: I'm not sure about 8.0 'cause the last AOL version I had was 6.0. I didn't even like switching to that from 5.0 because you could turn your instant messenger off. I have you in my buddy list so you know. :wave:
