People at the new american idol auditions: Do think more of them were good or bad

I didn't watch last year but it seemed like almost every person sucked at singing this year. I guess it seems like that because thousands of people auditioned. Detroit had the worst. After hearing a singer Simon said, "I think you have summed up Detroit." or something along those lines.
