A lot of the stuff I listen to doesn't get much recognition...or any for that matter. Bands like Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Something Corporate really deserve more recognition in my opinion.

There's a lot of really awesome Emo bands out there, who really dont get much recognition at all. Thursday, for example, is an awesome band but I hardly ever hear much about them.

I've heard of Thursday, though I have never actually heard their music. My boyfriend's little sister likes them. She likes alot of bands that probably deserve more recognition than they get. Dashboard Confessional comes to mind.

Exactly. I had an argument with a girl a few weeks ago who claimed that Nirvana invented grunge. She then went on to say that Good Charlotte are better than Mudhoney.....it's just sad...

I heard "Slidin' In & Out of Grace" by Mudhoney in 1988, prolly about a year before Nirvana's Bleach album came out. I remember when they first called upcoming Seattle bands grunge
in 1990 a good deal before most people outside Seattle became familiar with Nirvana. I guess she could say that about GC because after all, they're on MTV....MTV rules everything music...

I think Dusty Springfield should get more recognition, after all she's the "Queen of Blue-eyed soul" and there are a lot of people who don't even know who she is!
