Since Nell Carter passed away today, does anyone have any favorite episodes of Gimme A Break they want to share with the readers of this post??? My favorite episode is where Nell and the Chief are both on diets and they are trying everything in their power not to break their diets but during the night they get up and eat everything in sight in the kitchen!!! I don't know very many episodes of Gimme A Break since I haven't watched any reruns in a while!!! We'll miss ya, Nell!!! God bless your family!!!

Nell Carter's work in "Joey's Train", season 5's premiere was her best performance in my opinion on the show. She really showed Nell Harper, her character, and Nell Carter, her ral self's true feelings for the Chief/Dolf Sweet, since everyone was sad of his passing.

Hi All...That was my favorite episode too!!!! I was so saddened to hear about the death of our beloved Nell. Gimme A Break was my favorite television show ever and Nell was the first television star that I identified with. Even though she was a African-American woman from Alabama and I was a White boy from Southern Ohio, I still connected with her humor, her style, and her size (I've been big for most of my life too) and she helped me to find solace with a very lonely childhood. For this, I'll always be greatful and indebted to Nell.

One of the funniest episodes I've ever seen of ANY sitcom has got to be the Gimme a Break episode where the youngest daughter thought she was pregnant because she kissed a boy. Through all my years of watching TV, I've never laughed so hard as at that particular show. The youngest daughter was so upset... she even said she could "feel the baby kick".... I laughed out loud. Rest in peace, Nell Carter, for giving us the gift of laughter and music. :thanks:

i'd have to go with the episode in which sam has an imaginary friend named debbie jo. the best part was when sam was sent to her room during dinner, and grandpa said to debbie jo to go upstairs and cheer her up.
of course, any episode featuring angie was always good for a few laughs!

Remember when Nell stayed overnight at Angie's and she slept with her teddy bear? What a voice and a dim bulb too! :D

My favorite episode is the one that Andy Gibb guest starred in.( being the huge Gibb fan that I am). I sure hope that maybe nick at nite will bring the show back in honor of Nell. What a sad loss.
My prayers are with her family and fans.

It aired on USA from September 22, 1997 to September 14, 1998. I think. 2 stations in Texas currently air it.
