"Raymond becomes upset when he finds out that a radio talk show host hates him and he tries to find out why."

Hmmm... wasn't this a plot on an early episode of Frasier? I remember one of the guys from Wings played the guy who didn't like Frasier's show.

For some reason, I don't remember that episode of Frasier.

I remember that Frasier episode. The Station he worked for put together a focus group to talk about Frasier's show. He stood behind a 2-way mirror watching and listening to their remarks....about 10 people.
Everyone is singing his praises except for one guy who says he doesn't like the show but doesn't say why. It drives Frasier crazy. He finds out that the guy owns a newspaper stand, and he gets Niles and his father to stake it out.
He sends his father out to pretend to buy a paper and casually ask him why he doesn't like Fraiser's radio show. The man is one of few words and again doesn't elaborate. I remember the man had an accent.
Fraiser gets out next and through a series of events which are escaping me, he ends up burning the guy's newstand down by accident.
It was very funny.

I also remember that one, and I agree with you Janice, it was very funny. The newstand owner appeared to be either Indian or Pakistani, although I don't believe they actually said what his nationality was. Before he set the newstand on fire, Fraiser accidently broke the man's arm by slamming it in the metal roll-down door that covers the front of the newstand.

There was another Fraiser episode in which a newspaper columnist was writing scathing reviews about Fraiser's radio show in his column. Fraiser retaliated on the air, and ended up being publicly challenged to a fight by the man.

The "Raymond" episode with the radio host sounds as if it could have been inspired by one or both of these Fraiser episodes.

That's right Jimbo. I forgot about the broken arm. I remember the guy sitting on the sidewalk or something afterwards, feeling so defeated. He was such a mild-mannered man too.
Do you remember how the newstand went on fire? I seem to recall Frasier was alone for a few minutes there when it happened. Also, did he ever tell Frasier why he didn't like him? I think it was simply, "I just don't like you." He wouldn't elaborate, but I could be wrong.
I vaguely recall the other episode you referred to. They were in the coffee shop...the guy was a bully...Niles was there...they tricked the guy somehow...something about a lawsuit?
My memory is shot. I'm paying for all the partying I did in my 20s. ;)

My friend has already seen this episode and, from what I hear, the episode doesn't sound like the Frasier version.

An outline:
Ray reads in the paper that some d.j. or something doesn't like him so he goes to a bar to confront him.

For the record, no one gets hurt ;)

I thought it was a good episode. My favorite part was when Marie had the lasagna spilled on her and Frank said something like "I'm very turned on right now."

I liked how Robert stood up for Ray in the end. I think that deep down inside, Robert really does love his brother and is proud of him.

I think Andy deserves his own show. That guy always makes me laugh

I don't remember how the newstand caught fire, but you're right - it happened while Fraiser was watching the newsstand for a few minutes for the guy (I think he went over to talk to Martin in the car). As far as why he didn't like the show, it was something very vague, as you've stated.

Regarding the other episode, Fraiser agreed to fight the guy in the park across the street from the coffee shop (even though he was terrified). Just as he and the other guy met, and were about to fight, the police showed up and broke it up. I think they said something about hearing about the fight on the radio. The truth, however, was that Fraiser's father called a buddy of his in the Police Department, and had him send over a few guys to stop the fight (unknown to Fraiser).
