View Full Version : After Bobby left... Brian Damage 01-22-2003, 04:18 PM Do you think Taxi suffered after Bobby Wheeler(Jeff Conway) left to go to Hollywood or do you think the show maintained its humor? Chocoholic 01-22-2003, 06:39 PM Bobby's departure didn't kill the show for me. I liked the character, but I didn't think he was central to the show. If Louie or Jim had left, I think that would have killed it. I think those two characters are the ones that really made Taxi great. Just my opinion :D jgrif026 11-02-2011, 05:42 AM still tho... you cant deny the dynamic was altered.. to me simply put when bobby was written out it got slitely duller... his struggling actor battling his vanity character worked well with dum dum tony, dimwitted jim, dispicable louie, and the rest of them... seasons 4 and 5 were definitely good solid seasons in the tradition of taxi but jeff conaway going as well as the departure of the charles bros who went off to do cheers really took a lot of the original heart the initial seasons of taxi had c_note 01-10-2013, 07:37 AM The show didn't suffer but I like the Bobby Wheeler character and thought some of the early episodes centring around him were excellent. markaleen 01-18-2013, 06:23 AM Whenever I watch the episodes after he had gone I honestly don't notice that he's not there. I mean Bobby was never my favorite character but I usually notice when a character is missing. veggie-tari-jenn 03-18-2013, 12:42 AM I didnt like the show as much after he left...he was my fave on the show. Neutronman67 03-18-2013, 11:45 AM The show was still funny and entertaining without bobby, now if louie left the show the show would have been nothing Danny Devito was the star of the show |
