Can anyone think of shows remade from shows in other countries? So far I can think of:

1. Who's the Boss- Was remade in UK as The Upper Hand
2. As If started in the Uk, also called As if.
3. Sanford and Son- Started in UK as Steptoe and Son in 1962
4.Queer as folk started in the UK
5. There was a show called Aliens in The Family in the US, which was also in another country, ran for 8 episodes.
6. Bless this House was originally in the UK

This is a movies board. I'm going to move this thread to the Britcoms board, I think it's better suited there.

Three's Company used to be called "Man About The House" from Britain. I'm about 88 % sure.

Yep, you're right about that.

Other ones I can think of-

The Ropers started out as George and Mildred in the UK

All In The Family starting out as Till Death Us Do Part in the UK

Dear John started in UK

And away from sitcoms- Weakest Link, Who Wants To Be A Millionare, I'm a Celebrity.

Sanford and Son starring Redd Foxx was a remake of the British series Steptoe and Son.

Here's one that hasn't been mentioned yet. "Fawlty Towers" was remade twice. First, as "Amanda's" in 1983, then as "Payne" in 1999.
And, if one is talking about something besides sitcoms, here's another, but pay attention, because it gets confusing, and I am not sure if I understand it all.
In 1985, there came from the U.K. a show called "Max Headroom." That same year, there was a joint U.K./U.S. production called "The Max Headroom Show." That was followed two years later by a U.S. production, whose title was back to "Max Headroom."
What makes it more confusing, was that Matt Frewer was Max in all three shows.
It is interesting to note that the traffic seems to be mostly one way. U.K. shows being remade here in the U.S. The only U.S. show that I know about that originated here and was remade in the U.K. was "Who's the Boss." which was remade in the U.K. as "The Upper Hand," which has already been mentioned on this board.
And, a bit of trivia, Redd Foxx's real name was Sanford.

There was an attempt to remake "The Golden Girls" - this appeared as "Brighton Belles" and was triumphed by ITV in a it-can't-possibly-fail way. Guess what happened.
