.. or the afterlife or whatever you believe in, if you believe in life after death, what do you want to do first?

When I die and go to Heaven, I want to meet my maternal grandfather. I've never met him because he died when my mom was little.

Well I said this in the other religion post, but since my 2 loves/best friends were killed last month, I am believing they are up there having fun and being so carefree... I hope so cuz I know I wanna see them again someday

I don't believe in an afterlife. I think its all just a fear of death.

I don't really believe in Heaven. I think when you die your spirit just kinda floats around in the ether and death is all like one big dream.
But if Heaven were like it's portrayed in the Bible then I'd just sit on a cloud getting drunk and listening to 1980's heavy metal music for all eternity. I'd also like to have a beer with the late, great Bill Hicks. :notworthy

I'd like to reunite with whatever loved ones I've lost. Right now, that would be my paternal grandparents.

I'm an Athiest but um, if there is a Heaven, I'd hang out with my best friend and my second Mommy, while drinking Pina Coladas and listening to Nirvana on the beach.

Death is no big deal. We all die sooner or later.

That's my idea of heaven!!!! :guitar:

I think people have some point about heaven being a reaction against the fear of death. I believe in heaven, not as a place up
past Uranus;) but more as a spiritual state. Some people make heaven sound too much like a continuation of our otherwise jaded lives, kinda like going to Disneyland with no closing hours. I have had that fear of "what if there is no heaven...?":( or an afterlife, but I think there is something in all of us that fears non-existence, or fears that once we die, we may leave behind a life that was of little importance. When Christ talks about laying down your life for your friends and dying to gain real life, there is a great comfort in that. According to the Christian understanding of death, it is not something entirely to be feared, our problem is that we fall too much on our natural self-preservation instinct. I think that the Kingdom of Heaven is like that state of bliss that happens like, when you find you're in love, or you experience a beautiful sunset, or some profound experience that gives you a greater understanding and awareness of what life is all about. I think the heaven that we look forward to is the fulfillment of our deepest hopes and longings.

God is without a doubt whose face I wanna see first. I dunno if I could look God in the face though, He's so almighty and everything. But sometimes when I am doing things I know are wrong, I think to myself, "how am I gonna explaint this to God when I die and go to heaven? what is He gonna say??" I think that is like my ultimate source of will-power.

Well the first thing I want to do it is thank Jesus for dying for our sins and giving us a second chance to go to heaven. Then I want to see God because I've always wondered what he looked like and then I'd thank him for all the wonderful things he gave and did for me and thank him for bringing Jesus to die for our sins that is the best thing he did for us. Then I'd want to go reunite with all my family and relatives that have died then go meet celebs because I actually can and I won't have the fear of being nervous around them.

I would rather live my life as if their is a God and find out their isn't ,than to live my life as if there isn't a God and find out there is. I believe in Heaven. I want to meet God. Then see my mom again. Also my grandfathers and my cousin. Also my great grandmother she died before I got to meet her but I've heard wonderful stories about her.

Yeah, my maternal grandfather died when my mom was young too, so I never met him. I want to meet him so badly. Growing up, I would go to his grave and sit and talk to him. I would wonder what tpes of advice he would give me and what kind of relationship we would have. I heard he was a fiesty man with a quick temper when he was young, but mellowed out as he got older. I have pictures of him, and sometimes just look at them, wondering what it would be like to actually have a conversation with him.

They're there. Trust me. And I'm sure that the three of you will have so much fun one day. Just trust and believe. Our dreams are what gives up hope for the future.

I've got a lot of friends, family members, and pets to find and hug. I'll do that first. We'll get acquainted and caught up with each other. Then, I'm going to find the Happy Days section. I figure if people and animals die and go to Heaven, shouldn't sitcoms also go when they die? I'm going to hang out with Leather, Richie, Joanie, Chuck, Potsie, Ralph.....and of course, Fonzie. ;)

You summed my feelings up perfectly, as well. That was worded very eloquently. :)

When I die and go to heaven I hope to see my paternal grandparents and my maternal grandmother. I've never met either of my grandmothers and my paternal grandfather died when I was 3, so I don't remember him. I'd also like to meet my uncle who died of a heart attack before I was born. I'd like to see my dog again, of course, and the family cat, Max, who died when I was 5. I'd also like to meet the tejano singer Selena.

I might choose to be reborn. But, I'm also thinking I might just retire to heaven and not bother with the cruelty of life. One good thing about heaven would be no-one would have to be concerned about war or any of the other bad stuff that goes on in this world. I think if given the choice, I would rather die into an afterlife of peace, than to live in a life where there is war, hunger, disease, terrorism, murder, etc. Why should anyone be afraid of the afterlife? It's much more scary here on earth.

Very well said JoPol_wannabe. I would want to see God first (I forgot to mention that in my first post) and thank him for everything he has blessed me with. He has blessed me with a loving caring family, good friends and a good community to live in! Then I would want to see all of my family members that have died before me. Faith is very important to me! I don't really fear death as I used to because I know when the time comes I know I'm going to a better place. Who knows Jesus may come back before we die and thats another thing to look forward to.
