View Full Version : Did Mike and Gloria Sign A Lease On The Jeffersons' House??? AtlantaBravesFan29 01-21-2003, 06:27 PM I was wondering when Mike and Gloria moved into the Jeffersons' house if they signed a lease,if so,did they break the lease when they moved to California??? TVgen62 01-22-2003, 03:13 AM Yes, Mike and Gloria signed a lease. George kept reducing the price until they couldn't refuse. (George knew having Mike live next door to Archie, who had been pining for the day when "the Meathead" would leave, would drive Archie nuts.) Whether or not Mike and Gloria had to buy out of their lease was, I guess, too mundane a detail for the writers to bother mentioning. jon123 01-22-2003, 03:14 AM Yes, they did sign a lease but George told Mike he would let them out of the lease if they would move out right away if he found a buyer. George did find a buyer, the Banzinis (they were midgets) or whatever they were called and thus the Stivics had to move back in with Archie and Edith for the final two weeks before they left for California. George said that the Banzinis were paying cash, but something must of gone wrong because in the next season the Jeffersons still own the house because Louise visits Edith and asks her to show the house to prospective buyers. The family was the Bambinis. "Bambini" is Italian for "baby". jon123 01-22-2003, 12:13 PM Thanks for correcting me. I didn't mean to pull an Archie by misprouncing the name. No one expects yaz ta be no professor of linguine. Actually, thank you for reminding me that George had a buyer for the house. Of course, that doesn't mean Mike and Gloria weren't still breaking their lease. I guess George had a weak moment (thanks to "Weezie") and waived any fees/penalties Mike and Gloria may have owed. |
