I was wondering why Nick at Nite does not carry the first season of Charles In Charge that aired on CBS from 1984-1985 with the Penbrookes!!! When they showed Charles In Charge on WGN and on the local station(KABB-FOX 29) years back,they showed every episode including the very first season on CBS!!! I liked the CBS Shows with the Penbrookes and also with the Powells of the later shows!!! Did Nick at Nite get every one of the episodes from the CBS years or just showing the ones that aired in syndication???

They bought the whole series. My buddy PB has posted this many times. All they need is to get copies of Season 1 (Pembroke) and the final season and 1/2 (1989-December 1990). The contract ends in May of this year, so I wrote to them to start showing all episodes and hopefully renew the contract...

In the very first episode of when they went into syndication with new shows,Charles thought he was dreaming when he saw the Powell family living in the Penbrooke home,and they have shown that episode!!! That episode explained what happened to the Penbrookes as well(Moved Away)!!!

I thought the first season was the best.

I remember when it ran back-to-back with "ER" on CBS. By "ER" I mean the Elliott Gould version which ironically co-starred a very young George Clooney.

The guy who played the dad on the first season was of course one of the stars of "Animal House", and then went on to become a top TV director.

I don't know what happened to the rest of the cast. April Lerman and I were born just a few weeks apart.

I wonder whatever happened to her.

Ive never seen the first season, I Just started watching when it came to Nick At Nite. I Hope they show them so i can see what the first season is like.

Yes, the theme song is the same,but it is a slower version than the one they used later in the syndication episodes which was a much faster version with a group singing,the first season one was sung by a girl.:)
