View Full Version : Erin Moran At Autograph Show
Fleet 01-19-2003, 10:00 PM Well, Erin was here today at the autograph show!
http://www.hollywoodcollectorshow.com
She did not arrive until after 12:00 PM because she flew in from Santa Barbara to the L.A. Airport, then into the valley where the show was. I'm glad she was able to make it to the show.
As promised, I gave her a copy of the thread "Recent Photo Of Erin." There were people waiting for an autograph, so she only read the first post of that thread. She seemed to enjoy this message board, though. And she now has a copy of several threads. I showed her the message board member known as "Shortcake" (Ashley). She laughed at her screen name!
I also gave her a copy of the thread "Joanie's Voice?" She told me that yes, she did the singing on the show. It was her voice that you hear.
I asked her if she was born in 1960 or '61. (Both years have been claimed.) She said 1960 is the correct answer (Oct. 18). So she is 10 months older than I am.
Yes, there was one "official" photo taken of her (with me). I was able to snap several more while she was signing autographs for other people. When I use up the roll of film, I'll post the pics on here.
Stormtracker TF 01-19-2003, 10:29 PM OMG!! Cool! Thanks for letting us know!

White_Daisy 01-19-2003, 10:40 PM Oh wow!! You are so lucky!! I have to find out when's the next show coming to the Northeast cause I'll be the first one there! Wanna come, Katie? If it's in NJ or NY, we can both go! And MCOB, you can come down from NH!

I really hope she does check out this message board. That would really be nice. The address for this message board is on the copies I gave her, so she knows how to find us!
Yes, it was a fun day. I also got to meet Noel Neill, Lois Lane from the "Adventures Of Superman" TV series. She is now 82 years old. I took a picture of her, too.
To recap, Erin has copies of these threads: "Recent Photo Of Erin," "Joanie's Voice," and one more I forgot... "Joanie Screaming." I gave her a copy of that last one because I think she would like to read the funny comments on that thread!
You know, I really think they should have some kind of a raffle at this show- the winner gets to take home a celebrity. At today's show, I would have picked Erin. :D
I asked one of the show's organizers if he thought Chuck Norris would ever be at this show. He said they do not solicit (contact) celebs. The celebs call them and ask to attend. So, who knows. Maybe I'll see Chuck there someday.

Thanks!!!I They are not too far away from me!I passed them both a few times! If anybody of the Happy Days cast has a new book (I think I heard Henry Winkler is coming out with a new book on this Happy Days board.I hope he does he is one of my biggest idols) I wouldn't be surprised if they will be in "Bookends" in Ridgewood, New Jersey!I'll get mpore information about Bookends if you want. They had a lot of big stars there.I went to see Mick Foley the wrestler.Jerry "The King" Lawler was there recently(so those are examples of how big their stars are)or is coming he probably already came.Unless they changed it you have to buy the book of the author signing to get an autograph.Give me information please if any of the cast of Happy Days cast is coming to New York and New Jersey! Thanks!!!I hope Erin is here!!!Was this the first time you saw her, Fleet? Why didn't you say or give anything about me Fleet:confused:Just kidding I knew you would have but I know you knew I wanted her the only one getting attention then cause you don't see her much.

I live about 15 minutes from Bookends. The Jerry Lawler signing is 6:00 P.M. January 29th FYI. Yes you have to buy a book. I'm not a big fan of book signings. I much prefer an 8x10 and of course a pic with the celeb if possible. Those are great for display.

Erin is very nice. In fact, of all the celebrities I've seen at these shows, I think Erin and Cindy (Williams) are the nicest and most fun to talk to. There was no charge for the pic that was taken of Erin and I. And when a fan asks to have a picture taken with her, she jumps right up and is ready to pose! She seems to be very happy.
Yeah, it's too bad that these shows are only at a few locations, like L.A., San Francisco, Chicago and New York. I guess most celebs just don't have the time to make an appearance in every state. Phoenix is a big city, though. Maybe there will be an autograph show there in the future.
Cactus Jack 01-21-2003, 12:06 AM Cool!:D
Do you know if any other HDers have been at these shows? Or just Erin ( and Cindy form L&S)?

Well, if I moved from California to Florida, what I would miss the most would be the mountains. I like mountains. I remember reading somewhere that the highest point in Florida is 300 feet above sea level. Where I live, it's about 900 feet. And the mountains located about 5 miles behind my area has a peak which is 3,747 feet. (Snow on it once or twice a year.) I don't think I would be thrilled about the humidity in Florida, too. But I would like the mild winter weather.

So far, only Erin from Happy Days. I hope she will urge some of her co-stars to go to a future show with her. It would be great to talk to Henry and Ron, especially. Also, the long-time pros in show biz, Marion and Tom. Donny would be fun to talk to, I would probably ask him to do a "Ralph Malph"-type joke. The last time Cindy was there, Penny Marshall and Eddie Mekka were there, too. (Their first time.) But remember, I did not know about this show when it first started. It was going on for several years before I found out. I think the first one I went to was in April, 1999. I do remember the first celeb I got an autograph from: Bernard Fox from "Bewitched." Second was Pat Priest from "The Munsters," and third was Robert Pine from "CHiPs."
Let me tell you; the first show I went to, it was strange seeing the actual celebrity behind their name plate on the table! I felt like I was dreaming. Walking right up to a celeb and talking to them. And no one rushes you when talking to them (unlike some signings at book stores I've seen). I was talking to Johnny Crawford ("The Rifleman") for about 15 minutes one time near the end of the show when things slowed down. He finally had to leave- he was going to Fry's Electronics.

Maybe I'll drive her over to Florida in my limo.
:D
But, I might have to ask her to pay for some of the gasoline used (it only gets 12-13 mpg. on the highway).

Okay, we'll see what Erin says. (Are you reading this, Erin?)
I might decide to rent a helicopter. It would cut down on the travel time. Less traffic, too.

Don't worry. I know I am luckily to live near one of these autograph shows. They can get expensive, though. At the one last year (Oct.), I spent over $70.00 on autographs with Cindy, Penny and Eddie, and a few other celebs.

It's happened to me, too. This is a two-day show, so a few times I just went back the next day so I could tell her anything I've forgotten.

Well, I haven't forgotten my name and I've yet to fall down stairs. There are no stairs at this autograph show.

Fleet 01-21-2003, 11:44 PM I wasn't sure exactly what year ('60 or '61) Erin was born so I didn't show her this. But now I can post it...
Years ago, there was a radio show called the "Johnny Hayes Big 11 Countdown." Every day he would count down the top 11 songs on that day for a certain year- a different year every day.
It was the top 11 because the radio station was 1110 KRLA AM. Anyway, these were the most popular songs in southern California on Oct. 21, 1960, when Erin was three days old!
#11- New Orleans- Gary "U.S." Bonds
10- Wait For Me- The Playmates
9- Devil Or Angel- Bobby Vee
8- Summer's Gone- Paul Anka
extra- Blue Angel- Roy Orbison
7- You Talk Too Much- Joe Jones
6- Tonight's The Night- The Shirelles
extra- Sleep- Little Willie John
5- Save The Last Dance For Me- The Drifters
4- Stay- Maurice Williams And The Zodiacs
extra- Kiddio- Brook Benton
extra- Last Date- Floyd Cramer
3- Nighttheme- Mark II
2- A Million To One- Jimmy Charles With The Revelettes
1- A Thousand Stars- Kathy Young With The Innocents
Notes-
Extra was a song not quite in the top 11, usually moving up. The D.J. put extras in to fill in the one-hour show.
On this date, the #1 song nationwide was "Save The Last Dance For Me" which was #1 for 3 weeks and hit #1 on the Oct. 17 chart. I've noticed the songs lagged behind a little in Calif., taking longer to reach their highest position.
*ShortCake* 01-22-2003, 12:18 AM aww cool!! My birthday is really close to hers..mines the 2nd of October 1982 thoughLOL :D

Let's see... Oct. 2, 1982. I'm looking it up in my Billboard book.
The #1 songs in that time period was "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" by Chicago from Sept. 11 to Sept. 18 when "Jack & Diane" by John Cougar went to #1 until Oct. 30. So, "Jack & Diane" was the #1 song in the nation on the day you were born. :)
*ShortCake* 01-22-2003, 01:19 AM how cool lol no wonder i like the song Jack and Diane!! Thanks for telling me that!
