Scene Opens at Sugarbaker's...
BERNICE: Well, I am off to the airport!
SUZANNE: You're off all of the time!
MARY JO: Now, Bernice, I hope you have a wonderful time in Japan.
JULIA: Yes, Mother would be so delighted to see you again.
BERNICE: Well, I hope to pick up some trade secrets from the Orient. My goal is to come back as a massuse! Then again, the Japanese arts take fifty years to master. I don't have that long.
ANTHONY: Come on Bernice. Let's get to the airport.
BERNICE: (as they leave) Oh Anthony, please let me sit on your lap while we drive--
MARY JO: Well, this weekend better be good. Ted's got Quint this weekend and I have nothing better to do.
SUZANNE: Write a letter to Dear Abby.
JULIA: Suzanne!
SUZANNE: Well I am sorry Julia! I love Mary Jo with all my heart (to Mary Jo) but it's getting a bit too much with you lonely weekends with the kids gone! I am sorry, but I just cannot help you trap a man this weekend.
CARLENE: Y'all! Guess what? I was down at the university this morning, and they was having a raffle. I entered it at the last minute, and I won!
MARY JO: What is this raffle?
CARLENE: A murder mystery weekend in West Virginia!
JULIA: A murder mystery weekend?
CARLENE: Yeah, what do y'all say?
SUZANNE: Well, I say that it's stupid! I am sorry Carlene, but I do not have the time to be sitting around a dark hotel solving mysteries with Scooby Doo and the kids!
MARY JO: Well, I think it's a great idea. Julia?
JULIA: Well, the idea of a murder mystery sounds fascinating, but with all the work to do around here. We have the last of Denise's dress orders to get out by Tuesday.
MARY JO: Come on Julia. I know that a murder mystery appeals to you. You read Agatha Christie like the Bible.
JULIA: Well, I guess a weekend wouldn't hurt. We could charter one of BJ's planes and fly there this weekend.
CARLENE: Suzanne, are you up to it?
SUZANNE: I guess. I had nothing better to do this weekend anyway.
CARLENE: Well, let's all get to packing.
SUZANNE: (to herself) I am spending an entire weekend with Agatha Christie, the divorcee' and Ellie May Clampett!
