She's done a ton of movies I think my favorite would be National Lampoon's Christmas vacation. She was so funny in that.

Christmas Vacation is the only movie I know Doris Roberts was in. I did like Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein.

I know the question is about movies, but I remember first seeing Doris Roberts in the TV show "Angie". It was a sitcom broadcast in the late 1970s (I think it ran 2 seasons). Donna Pescow played the title role, and Doris Roberts played her mother.

Doris Roberts played a recurring role on Barney Miller along with another actor who played her husband. They would stroll into the Precinct House every now and then with a problem.
She had the same fiery tempermant and witty way about her on BM as she does on ELR.
I also saw her on an episode of All In The Family. She's a good comedic actress.

I remember her from Angie too. She was also on Touched By an Angel once and was in two tv movies, one where she was the sheriff and Roma Downey had inherited a business. The other was Town Without Christmas or something like that. I'm sure I've seen her other places too, but I can't remember them. I've always liked her whatever she was in.

I saw her on an episode of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" once.


Town Without a Christmas is the movie Patricia Heaton was in. I think you may be thinking of "Angels of Misletoe" or something like that.

Oh that's right. I was thinking Doris and Patricia were both in it, but I must have gotten it and some other movie mixed up in my head.

Plus Donna & her hubby.

I loved her on National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Doris is one funny lady :lol: She's a very classy actress too, unlike some young actresses nowadays.

She was also on two episodes of "Alice" as -what else- Alice's interfering mother. It's her standard role, but she always does it well.

She had a small part in "Soap" as Flo Flotsky, Tim's mother. She passed away on Tim and Corinne's wedding night.
