1. No man in his right mind would stay with a woman taking care of rats.

2. The Friends have let her slide for years, but in real life this would warrant an intervention or suggestion that she visit a shrink.

Other than that the season is really back on track after the lousy start.

I though the rat thing was such a stupid storyline. I wonder which writer or writers thought of that? That person or persons should be fired.... What a dummy..........

I did like the ending though.......... With Ross.......

I thought it was pretty funny. Phoebe cares so much about rats she would go out to name them and take care of them when their mother dies. It's not meant to reflect reality. If that were true Monica would have to go see a shrink for her cleaning disease.

But you want your show to contain some reality. Monica's neatness stuff is common among a lot of people. Naming and caring for rats in your apartment.....

It was a strange episode but its Phoebe, since she is an animal lover it would make since for her to take care of them and name them other then killing them (or having someone else kill them while you jump on a table and screem).

I know a lot of people who have named animals like rats or mice (they were mostly ones bought in the store), or insects.

I even have named the dogs and cats (some strays that I feed) on my street(even if they already have names).

Yeah, I didn't care much for the rats storyline either! I know Phoebe loves all animals, and it's somewhat understandable that she doesn't want harm coming to those "rat babies," but I still thought it was weird!

I liked the episode too!!! I'm loving the Rachel/Gavin/Ross story. I heard the next episode is Dermot Mulroney's last though! :(

Joey: Look at me, I'm Chandler! Could I BE wearing any more clothes?

OOH, that's to bad I want Rachel to end up with him. If the next new episode is his last he probably won't end up with her. To Bad.

I think the friends should get together and smack Phoebe around for a while.
Not because she's gone a little nuts, but because she's becoming really rude and mean to the others. She gets up and leaves her supposedly best friend's party to feed rats?

Not cool.

i thought that this was their best episode for the season. and i agree that phoebe should not have left rachel's party!

I bet that Monica is never going to sleep in her room again since Pheobe's rats were there! Monica is going to have nightmares that will haunt her for life!

They did go too far with the rat thing. Especially since EVERYONE in New York hates rats because they outnumber the people. Even Phoebe would've put those varmits straight into the trash. The show is really losing steam QUICKLY, they need something to breathe life back into it. And NOT another baby story-line, which worked for the 8th season.

Phoebe has always been my least favorite but the way they're writing for the character now is making matters worse. No one who has ever lived in NYC would allow rats to live freely in their place (in a cage maybe) - animal lover or not.
I did like the ending and the Rachel/Gavin storyline. It's too bad they're not going to continue with it for much longer.
Friends used to have some clever situations and the writing was somewhat consistent with their age and the age of the target audience. This year, they have brought down the overall IQ of the group in order to pull off more obvious gags and jokes.

Shhhh! Don't say that out loud. If the rats find that out we're all screwed.

Phoebe has become more and more like Ursula (her ultranasty twin sister), hasn't she?

I think they all need to see shrinks if we are really going to base this on reality. Phoebe is just insane (even Rachel called her a dumb hippy), Joey is so stupid, I don't know how he remembers his own name! He litterally does not know left from right, he can't spell the word Baby, it takes him like ten minutes to read a sentence, he can't keep up with any conversation, he is seriously slow! Monica has chronic OCD... they are all messed up! But I love the show!

As far as Phoebe goes, the only reason she is not my favorite character is that she can be really, really mean! Like when Chandler was saying Goodbye when he was moving away to Tulsa she slamed the door in his face and was like "Goodbye already, enough is enough!" That was really rude! When she is mean she is hurtful I think...

I agree. At times, Phoebe was almost unlikeable with how mean-spirited she could be. I miss the sweeter, more naive, inadvertently mean Phoebe of the earlier seasons.

I actually like both Phoebe's. She did change alot of the years but I thought both were funny. Frabkly I think they went overboard with Monica sometimes

I hated Phoebe in the first half of the series.
The later Phoebe was much funnier.

Yeah, I would have to say that keeping the rats was a little out of line even for Phoebe. What were the writers thinking???
