I like the books and movies 'Harry Potter', but not actor Daniel Radcliffe who portrays Harry Potter.

I love the books. I think that they are good. I dont know why you'd make a thread completely about hating something that a LOT of other people like.

I LOVE Harry Potter!! I've read all the books and I can't wait till June 21st, when Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix comes out!!! Definately going to get it.

Thank you. I know not a lot of people like Harry Potter, but like you said there are those that do (ncluding me) so Rainman making this thread was just useless.

I agree. I love the books and the movies.

I liked the first book, but I fell asleep reading the second one. That was the first time I'd ever done that with any book, so I'm pretty sure Harry Potter isn't the series for me.

I have to admit I was kind of against HP before I even read the books. One day I picked up the first book and started reading it and it was such a fascinating book. I went to the other library and put down for 2, 3, and 4 and I was so surprised that each book just kept getting better. The movie was pretty good, too.

Nate, have you even tried reading the books or did you immediately shun it?

I think why I was judging it before I even picked up the book was because everybody was making such a big deal about it. That just kind of turns me off on some things. I was at the school library and I came across the first book. I kind of figured if the first chapter was boring, I could take the book back. I just had to see for myself if all the talk was just talk or if the books were really that great. They were that great and did deserve the talk.

Same here. My brother got all the books one year for Christmas and I had no intention of reading them, thinking that they would be stupid. But one day when I was bored I picked up the first one and started reading it. It was so good, I think I finished it in two days. I've never finished a book that fast before.

Well Mine was because my church was saying how Satanic it was and stuff but once I actually Read the book myself I was like OOH PLEASE its not real Like every little kid reading it is going to become a satan worshipper :rolleyes: and if THAT were the case My FAVE movie would have made a ton of satan worshippers because its about WITCHES

I've heard stories about why some people don't pick up the book for that reason. It's just a fictional book to me and I haven't started acting strangely because I've read the book.

I wonder what churches would say about the old tv show "Bewitched". Samantha was a witch. Darrin didn't want her performing witchcraft, but Endora always did. Has anybody heard of any churches boycotting this show and trying to get stations to stop showing the reruns? j/w

i really hate harry pothead and if you want reasons its was the worst book i ever read in my life and i read a lot i read one and it sucked so bad i refuse to read another or see any of the movies and back off nate i agree with him totaly

I think why people jump on Harry so much is because it's so popular. It kind of lets people share the spotlight with Harry if they start dissing the books because it deals with magic. You've got the books and the people that are against the books. The ones against it push themselves into the spotlight. jmo
