According to ESPN it sounds like Dennis Green will become the next coach of the San Fran 49ers sometime in the next few weeks. I am a Vikings fan (as well as a steeler fan) and I'm not sure he is that good of coach, although he has a good offensive mind look at how the vikings played defense while he was in charge.

I don't think he's that good of a coach. He's also a trouble maker. Does anybody remember when he accused the Vikings owner of being a racist. It was all just to get a contract extension.

Yes being a Vikings fan I remember that,he also had some other off field issues of Sexual assult I believe, that why Jacksonville won't hire him is because the Jax owners wife found out about that and didn't want him, that was from a vikings website I go to. I also believe he was going to sue the former owners of the vikings if he didn't get to be the GM of the team. When he was coach of the vikings just look how there defense played. I feel sorry for 49ers fans f they do get him.

Dennis Green is a step backwards for the 49ers.

A hothead, and the first to throw out the race card if something doesn't go his way and the last to take responsibility for his own actions.

If Jacksonville is lucky they will get Mariucci.

Here's a tip: bet against the Niners if they make the playoffs next year or in any big game. Green's record stands for itself.

I think ESPN is reporting that Jacksonville will hire Jack Del Rio to be their new head coach. So Mariucci's still free. Is there any other team looking for a head coach?

I don't think there are anymore openings left except for the 49ers which looks like DG will get. The Bengals got Marvin Lewis, Jacksonville is finalizing the deal for Jack Del Rio and of course Dallas got Bill Parcells. My guess is that Mariucci will go into broadcasting next year until the next round of NFL firings next year, just MO.

Rumors are around here are that Mariucci will come to Detroit since Mornhinweg's contract is up after this coming season and chances are good that he won't reamin coach. So who knows.

I think Mariucci will be a good choice for the Lions if that rumor becomes a fact, because they run the same style as the 49ers and he is a better coach than Marty Mornhinweg, just look what Marty did in overtime when they played chicago last year when he gave the Bears the ball in ot.

Who knows, Mariucci just might go back to college to coach.

That could very well happen also. On our local sports talk show they said there was a college team that was interested in him I believe it was either East Carolina or one of the California schools. So I think that could be a good possibility for him.

To fire Mariucci is dumb to begin with, to hire Green is even worse. Green is a terrible coach and a trouble maker besides which, how do you fire the guy if he doesn't perform - you can't - not without some guaranteed lawsuits. There has been speculation that Mariucci will take the 2. whatever M he's going to get for next year, work as an announcer for a year, then have his pick of teams. I'd like to see the Rams go after him if Martz has another questionable year next year (never happen).

Dennis Green going to San Fran is good for blacks cause we need to see more black head coaches, there's only 3 of them so far now that Marvin Lewis got the job at Cincinnati. Minnesota's defense wasn't that bad when Dennis was the coach there.

Dennis Green should not be hired because he's black, that's stupid. Dennis Green is an overated coach, who threatened the Vikings owners of racism and demanded he get ownership in the team. Meanwhile, he never won anything while coaching there.
