Anyone have any comments on Pete Townsend of the Who being arrested on charges of downloading child pornography?

This is a really horrible way to cap off such a wonderful career..

I would really like to buy into Pete's "I was researching these sites for a reason" defense, but his image is tarnished.

I don't want to comment on it right now. All I can say is that it makes me very, very sad and angry.

The reason Pete Townsend gives for viewing child pornography is that, since he was molested as a child himself, he was researching child porn to see what kind of people it attracts, etc.
He did say that he did notify police before when he found it on his computer. It is not to justify what he did, but, since he himself was a victim of a crime against children himself, he took it upon himself to investigate "the dark side"--not for tittilation purposes, but to find out something about the persons who abused him when he was younger. I give him the benefit of a doubt.

Although I'm a fan, I can't buy into his story. :(

I know...Even though others have vouched for him, you wonder if his molestation experience has...twisted him around that way...?:confused: I just hope for the best...
