FonzFan 01-14-2003, 06:46 PM January 9, 2003
Too far gone to hold onto life, but too precious to let go. Twelve years was not long enough to know and understand you. You may have been #81 on the football field, but you will always be #1 in our hearts. You will be in my thoughts and prayers now and forever. We'll miss you Nick.
In Loving Memory of:
Nicholas D. Felton
Feb. 27, 1986 - Jan. 9, 2003
Gone, but not forgottend.

How did he die?
FonzFan 01-14-2003, 07:42 PM He was in a car accident one week ago today. He lost control of his truck while heading home from the basketball game, and flipped it 5 times. His passenger was ejected, but walked away with minor injuries. Him, on the other hand, was crush inside the car, and had no pulse on the scene, but they revived him, and med-flighted him to St. Mary's, 30 miles away, in Madison. He was in critical condition with brain damage. They didn't think he had much longer. On Thurs morning Jan. 9, they took him off of life support and he passed away at 5:30pm that night. Our principal announced it to us after the basketball game.
I just saw him before it happen, and I just can't get it through my mind that this is really happening. Someone I knew for 12 years, someone I knew well, and now he's gone. It is so hard to imagine it, and it's just ripping me apart inside.

FonzForever 01-15-2003, 07:36 PM That's aweful. You have my deepest condolences.
FonzFan 01-15-2003, 08:47 PM Thank you all. Today was probably the hardest for me. At noon, the funeral was held at our church. It was so packed in there, you wouldn't believe it. They estimated that over 2/3 of our high school was there and about 450 people all together in church. I ended up sit on one of my guy friends lap, plus there were probably more than 50 people standing along the walls of the church. But to see him be in the casket and be put into the ground at the cemetery, it just feels like it can't be happening. But then I realize, it is.
Thank you all again.
