Long time, no post.


After watching The Entertainment Tonight "Happy Days" special on TVLand, I just thought I'd come out of Sitcoms Online semi-retirement to ask a couple of questions I've been wondering about for some time:

1) Why is it that all these "Happy Days" reunion show/documentaries state that the network originally passed on "Happy Days," but later finally agreed to give the show a chance, based on the wave of '50s nostalgia sparked by the success of the movie "American Graffiti" -- a film set in the 1960s?

2) If Ron Howard gave up the starring role of Richie on "Happy Days", deserted his "Happy Days" pals and quit the show in 1980, why is he always in the films of the cast and crew's 1982 softball road trip?

1-I can only guess people associated the atomosphere with the 50's, even though it was set in the 60's. Say fast cars for example.

2-I guess b/c the softball thing was for fun. As he has always said, leaving the show was a carerer choice, not something he was thrilled about doing. Leaving the show, didnt mean leaving his freindships with the cast behind.

My take anyway.

I wondered the same thing Ron doing the softball lol. But yah, I agree with those answers.
