Since there is no thread for one on the drama's forum, I thought I might as well start one.
What do you think about this show. Favorite characters? Do you like Gloria? Is touched by an Angel getting old, or are the episodes getting better?

I love this show. Monica is my favorite character. I don't like Gloria that much. I'm a new fan so I don't think it is getting old or anything.

Touched By An Angel was truly a magical show and it set a standard that made it different from other TV shows. When I saw Touched By An Angel with my mom I thought it was unique in a lot of ways and since my mom loves angels and miracle stories Touched By An Angel was amazing for her to watch. It's hard to believe that Touched By An Angel made Roma Downey a bonafide mega star and has become popular again as the co-founder of LightTV and if it wasn't for Touched By Angel Roma Downey would've never been a big celebrity with inspirational books and her cd of inspirational poems called Healing Angel. While the late Della Reese was superb in Touched By An Angel I think she was so wonderful in the show as Monica's friend. And the theme song Walk With You is such a catchy tune with a wonderful message that when times are tough your best friend or loved one is there to guide you through the rough times and Della Reese did a great job singing it. It would sure be cool if LightTV also aired Touched By An Angel especially since Roma Downey stars in it since she's the co-founder of LightTV

Start TV airs Touched By An Angel every morning.
TV Tropes considered (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/CondemnedByHistory/LiveActionTV) Touched by an Angel a show that is now "condemned by history":
In The '90s, older Christian viewers made Touched by an Angel (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/TouchedByAnAngel) a Top 10 show (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touched_by_an_Angel#Ratings) at the height of its run. Despite never being a critical favorite (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CriticalDissonance) and being regarded as glurge (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Glurge) at its worst, it often outdrew The Simpsons (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons) in its Sunday night time slot, it launched a Spin-Off (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SpinOff) in Promised Land that lasted three seasons, it earned eleven Emmy Award (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/MediaNotes/EmmyAward) nominations, and reruns of the show were central to the fledgling PAX (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Creator/IonTelevision) network's lineup. However, when its time slot was switched to Saturday nights for its final two seasons, ratings plunged, and the show's fandom evaporated. The show remains in circulation, but it is mostly seen as an overly sentimental, glurge-friendly joke, too sugary (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SweetnessAversion) for non-devout audiences but (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/UncertainAudience) too liberal for politically hard-right, evangelical Christians who now have plenty of entertainment aimed specifically at them (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheMoralSubstitute). The participation of Bill Cosby (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Creator/BillCosby) (who guest-starred in two episodes) didn't help its long-term legacy either.
Somebody r/television recently argued (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/1l5vevr/comment/mwotpqk/) that the show (https://www.reddit.com/r/ForgottenTV/comments/1ixzq0g/comment/mer0r0z/) was too treacly (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/1l5vevr/comment/mwlqf8n/) and preachy for people on the left and too "woke" for people on the right. So it no longer really appeals to anybody.
