That's what I'd like to know too. Do you buy them from a website or win auctions off of ebay or do you just print them out yourself? If you print them out yourself, congrats. I swear my father used to bitch at me when I went on a printing picture rampage. lol

I'm going to buy some of that picture paper and start printing out pictures again and hopefully send them to the celebs I like and get autographs. I still have my celeb phobia about autographs. I had a discussion with Cathy about it awhile back. What is so complicated about writing a fan letter and sending off a picture to get an autograph. I'm sure quite a few of you have done that so many times. I'm just scared to death of writing a fan letter. I know I'll probably sound like such a dork in my letters. lol

I get them from different websites, and those are not counting the ones I have out of magazines. My dad is gonna get pissed when he finds out that I print them out on his printer and use up all of his ink. BUT oh well I dont care. Its taken me a while to find the right places to look to find pictures but after a while you just know where to look for stuff.

I remember! :) Celebaphobia.

It's fun if you have a thing that can take pics off TV, 'cause then you can make your own pics. It's fun!

I'd love to have one of those things. I just got the scanner/printers, so I better wait awhile to get the other stuff.

We ought to write together, Cathy. I know you'd write to Richard Dawson. We can give moral support while writing our letters. Come to think of it, writing the letter isn't the problem. It's sending the letter- that's the problem.

If you get a snappy, it's cheap. Mine was like $12. They used to be hundreds.

We should. I need all the support I can get.

I want to write Olivia De Havilland SO bad, but I don't want to look like an idiot...I started to write one and was like OMG AHHH it came out awful, I wish there was like a class in school on writing fan letters lol, and my mom freaks about the ink, omg if i print one thing not school related she'll have a corinary I swear...Now that's im thinking of this i really should write more fan letters soon...

Omg, it's that cheap? Why I didn't buy one is because I thought were still quite expensive.

That would come in so handy if they taught fan letter classes. I've browsed around in Star Archive for addresses and I copy and save them to Word. I just still get nervous about the whole thing.

I've got a question. Anybody can reply. Okay, let's say you want to write to your favorite celebrity or celebrities of all time. What if you write a nice fan letter, include your own picture- basically the works. What if you get a letter back in the mail from this celeb stating that they charge 30 bucks for an autograph. Would you go ahead and send them the 30 bucks in order to get the autograph, or would you just say the hell with it.

I never understood how some people have the gall to charge 30 bucks for a name. I could understand paying if you didn't include a picture for them to sign, but I just feel it's a kick in the face. I realize these people have lives too and they don't sit around and sign autographs all day long. I'm not asking for them to write their life story on this picture. I'd be happy with the name.

That's what I do,I have a notebook and whenever I remember a star I want to write I jot it down.

I think it's so awful when they do that, and especially some of the lesser known celebrity's who want big bucks for one, it's riduculous...I can understand some donate the money to charity but other than that I think 's awful...

I don't mean anything bad by what I'm about to say because I like these people. Anyway, I'll use Nichelle Nichols for an example. I seen this over on Star Archive. I'll copy and post the comment so everybody knows what I'm talking about.

Tester's comment: "Nichelle was in Tulsa, Oklahoma for Trek Expo 2002 June 21-23 2002. She was charging a whopping $30.00 per autograph even if you had an item. I did not pay that huge fee, not when other Star Trek stars were there signing for much less. I doubt she's signing for free any longer through the mail."

I know Nichelle has done other things besides acting, but you just have face the facts that most people remember her as Uhura. That's as plain as I can get. That comment might not tell the whole truth. Maybe Nichelle was donating some of that money to charity. I'd still like to try for an autograph w/ Nichelle. I'd like to get all of the ST cast, well except DeForest Kelley. I can't exactly get his.

Maybe I will fork over 30 bucks. Everybody might think I'm crazy to pay that just for a name on a picture. It's just worth it to me. I'm still going to send a straight fan letter and the picture with no money enclosed. That way I won't be out some dough if anything gets lost in the mail. If I get a letter back from somebody saying they charge money, I'll send them the money.

I personally would say forget it. You could get one cheaper off ebay. Not that you got it person or anything, but still...it takes, what, 3 seconds to sign a name? $10 a second.

I think if a fan (especially a die hard one) takes the time to write you and tell you how much they like you, etc., and especially if they include a SASE, the least you could do is sign a picture and pop it in the mail. Be glad someone remembers you.
