That gap at that age is fine, IF the 18 year old is mature enough. 18 is pretty young still, since it is the youngest age of an ADULT's life. Adulthood is kind of scary, and full of unknowns. 23 might be just a little too advanced for the 18 yr old. But like I said, it depends on the 18 yr old.

i think it depends on the person- 5 years can be a lot or it can not seem like much at all.

That's what I've never understood about women..."I'd never date a guy 2 years younger, but if he's 15 years older pick me up at 8". What does age matter? If two people love each other it shouldn't matter what the age difference is...the male could be 18 female 23, male 60 female 49, ect., ect., ect....it doesn't really matter as long as the two genuinely love each other!

Ya... I get what youre saying. The thought of me dating someone younger kinda turns me off, I dunno. I mean, of course Id date someone younger than me, but I never really gave it much thought. Im out of school, so for me to date someone whos still in school would be weird! "Sorry, I cant. Ive got Algebra h/w to do!"- Ugh! I am more attracted to guys who are like.. 30 and younger. I really dont feel like dating guys around my age-- theyre so damn immature! Id rather date a guy whos a lil older. Im not refusing all guys who are younger than me, Id only date them if theyre like, 16 or 17. To me, the fact of dating a 13 year old @ almost 19 does not appeal to me.

I say that because all the guys I've met my own age are too immature. I'd perfer someone older who's out of college, has a job, and two feet on the ground- someone whose main goal in life is not to get drunk.

If I found an 18 year old I loved and fit my criteria, I'd be okay with that.

When I first started dating my husband he was 24 I was 18. And it has worked out just fine!:love:

My English teacher got married when he was 18 and his wife was 29 and they've been married for 15 years.

I don't think its a bad thing. I was 18 and my husband 27 when we started dating. He didn't look that old, but then I looked younger, lol...

I remember going to a store...Kmart, as a matter of fact... we were looking at computers and the sales rep told him it would make a great gift for his daughter (pointing at me, haha)...

They say on average the female has a lifespan 7 years longer than a male, and a female hits her sexual peak in her mid 30's while a male does so at around 18. This being said shouldn't the old tradition of older male, younger female be reversed?

I'm two yrs younger than my boyfriend, but we're in the same grade ( I skipped and started early). It's not so bad now since we're juniors, but it was iffy when we were freshman. 13 and 15, he got so many robbing the cradle jokes.
