I just got up to record/watch this last episode. I've been dreading this as much as I would any kind of a personal disaster! Thank heavens we have VCR's today and can watch him any time we want to. I think we've all been keeping Freddie alive these past several months with him being on TV everyday. This is almost like watching him die all over again! We need this message board and each other now more than ever!

Okay I just saw the last episode again..... (sniff). http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif It was very hard to see him so thin. I was such a young girl when he left this world. Last night I remembered which episode was aired after he passed. It was Chico's padre. The newspapers said that Freddie was on drugs so my sister and I looked at this episode extra close. I remembered it because I said to myself as I was seeing the episode, How could he leave his young son? I remember being angry at him. Real angry! That's why I've thought about Jr. all these years that have passed. It was hard not knowing whatever happened to Freddie Jr? Those feelings came flooding back to me. Freddie will soon be gone 25 years. Can you believe how fast times flies? I'm glad I'm able to vent my feelings here. I never had the chance to do it so many many years ago. It was a 3 hanky episode event even tho it was funny. He looked so good like nothing was wrong & he seemed so happy. As I saw it I wondered why? Why? Todays episode was so sad knowing what happened to him later that nite. Tears... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif He had so much to live for.

I am now starting to realize what I missed out on. I am just now re-discoving the show & him & now wonder where was I back then. I loved the show back then & thought he was nice but never collected on him. Guess I was too much in love with John Travolta, Shaun Cassidy & the Monkees. It was sad to hear about him dying that day my friend came to school upset that day cuz he had killed himself & I thought it was a real shame. After awhile you didn't hear of him anymore & I'd forgot about him until his kid became famous & then I thought that's cool his kid acts but he ain't as cute as the dad. The the MARATHON came on TVLAND & I enjoyed it & also the re-runs too. I enjoyed the show once more. & Then recently really got into the show & Chico-Freddie. I am now grieving. I realize now what has happened to him & it's so sad. He had so much to live for. He was only several yrs older than me. I wish I'd been a little older like say his age so that I would've maybe discovered stuff like like a little earlier & had more money to buy more stuff on stars.

In the 60's & 70's when my friend Arlo the singer first came out I knew who he was & liked his hit songs ALICES RESTUARANT & CITY OF NEW ORLEANS but was never a fan even tho I thought he was okay. The in 1988 I rented the video of his movie ALICES RESTAURANT & soon after from seeing that became a fan. & I now regret I never discovered him sooner. It's kind like that with Chico-Freddie.

I told my hubby recently that since I never knew Freddie or how he really was that probably who I have become really close to has been the character of Chico. I told him the character of Chico seemed like such a sweet & nice person. Freddie made Chico seem so real & believable. Jack & Scatman made Ed & Louie so believeable too. Thank you Freddie for allowing me to become friends with Chico via TV. God bless you Freddie. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Watching today's show brought back all the memories I have of sitting in my dorm room in college and listening to the report on the radio of Freddie's death. Seeing him so upbeat (acting?) in today's show made me feel sad and a little angry all over again. Why, O why did you do it Freddie? Did you even know why? (SSSSOOOOOOBBBBB)

I think I was having a nightmare re: Freddie's suicide when I woke up this morning. I was shaking as I went to get the tape of his last episode out of the VCR and put it in the rewinder and then back in the VCR to watch. In light of that, I didn't see anything upbeat in his acting, all I could see was how thin and hollow-eyed and "not there" he seemed. I guess by the next morning his life was basically over.

WHY???????????????????????

Remember in earlier episodes how Chico would
put his head back and laugh and you could see his tongue? He has not done that in the last several episodes. He didn't say his
"Loooooking Gooooood" as much either. His whole acting seemed more low keyed. I thought it was interesting when this last episode ended, Chico, Ed, Della and Louie
were all together with their arms around each other listening to God. How many other episodes ended with them all together like that? It's just still so sad!

It was very hard to watch this last one knowing in a few hours, he would be gone. I thought he looked very, very sad; so thin. His performance lacked any vitality; he was not Chico but he was trying.

I wish I could ask Della Reese what he was like when she worked with him, especially on this episode. Since she is virtually the only member of the cast left aside from Mando/Issac Ruiz. But he wasn't in the last episodes at all.

One thing hit me from this episode -- when Chico told Ed "Vaya con Dios" when he was leaving to have lunch with his friend.

I know that means "Go with God" in Spanish. How do you say "Be with God". I would like to say that now to Freddie.

There were several references to death in that episode, too... I think Ed mentions something about an obituary and at one point Chico tells him to put a knife to his throat... chilling, coincidental, prophetic... call it what you will... So sad...

*Looooooooking good!!*
