View Full Version : Did you know that Ralph Malph was the only HD character that......
TVFactFan 01-11-2003, 03:47 PM never walked on the set of a Happy Days spinoff. Ralph Malph never made an appearance on Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy, or Joanie Loves Chachi. Here is the list of the appearances that HD characters made
Joanie and Chachi had their own spinoff
Fonzie appeared on Mork and Mindy, Laverne and Shirley, and Joanie Loves Chachi
Richie appeared on laverne and shirley
Potsie appeared on laverne and shirley
Howard and Marion appeared on Jonaie Loves Chachi
Al was part of the Joanie loves Chachi spinoff
Ralph Malph should have been Richie's dance partner on laverne and shirley instead of goofy Potsie
Cactus Jack 01-11-2003, 03:49 PM Yeah, I knew that, I wonder why he didnt appear in the spinoffs?
He sohuldve:D

I think Ralph would have been better on L&S with Richie. Potsie was a waste of space of the happy days set

I know everyone's got a right to have an opinion, but I think that stops when you invade someone else's rights. Potsie WAS NOT a waste of space on the Happy Days set, maybe to you, but certainly not to me. And next time, if you want to say you don't like Potsie, I'd suggest a better way of doing it cause this one sucks...

:faint: I knew thatd get you. The reason why they used Potsie (IMO) was because Potsie was truly Richies best friend-- even more than Fonzie. They knew eachother forever and even though Potsie became good friends with Malph, that closeness between Richie and Potsie never faded.

:crying: That was beautiful, MCOB.:D
I wish I had a friend like Potsie....well, he actually would irritate me a lot, but he'd be the sweetest friend in the world. Potsie's not capable of higher thinking (:D ) so he'd never try to take advantage of anyone. He'd just be the same person you knew since you were in diapers, good or bad

Barnabas1 01-12-2003, 11:08 AM SOLOMON, Shut it. You need to learn to respect that some people on here like Potsie, and I don't think he was bad at all. If people didn't like him, they would have gotten rid of him.

Careful in wording. Let's not fight in here and even what I said was awfully mean. He might have been cruel, but let's just forget about it, he hasn't come back to say anything yet. By the way, how did you get 200 posts so fast?!?!?!?!:D

I hated him when he screamed at Marion (starts to think evil thoughts about Richie, furrows brow in confusion and opens a new internet window)
"Don't go, Aunt Bee, I don't want ya to. I want ya to stay!"
(smiles at computer and Richie) There, now I feel better

jewlmc 01-13-2003, 12:59 AM "..instead of that GOOFY Potsie..."
"Potsie was a waste of space on the HD set?"
Man that is ignorant! You may not have liked him but many people did. Personally I really liked the L&S episode with Potsie in it.
As for him being a waste of time "on the set" I think we are getting a wee bit personal as what happened on the set is NONE of our business and I am sure all the people that WERE on the set would tell you that you are WRONG.
You know...something I've noticed about you Solomon...and maybe I'm the only one and also maybe I am wrong...but it seems you always post something negative. Even something that starts off as positive or neutral is tacked with a nasty negative slam on SOMETHING.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Chad22 01-13-2003, 01:05 AM How can anyone not like Potsie? I Liked him better than Ralph (That doesent mean i dont like Ralph though). And i think Potsie reeks of awesomeness! :D

No, You're not wrong. You're right on the mark.
He does this on, what seems like, every board on this site.
His pointless character threads are a good example. You can find them on The Jeffersons and Good Times, to name a couple.

robyrob 05-29-2008, 02:51 PM never walked on the set of a Happy Days spinoff.
Ralph Should have become roomates with Larry from Three's Company - now THAT woulda been one swingin bachelor's pad for a spin-off!
Wreckless 05-29-2008, 04:25 PM Didn't know that, never really thought about something like that lol..thanks for the fun fact, ahhh I forgot about Mork and Mindy having a spinoff series after their breakout episode in HD lol..anybody remember scott baio's roles? he was Chachi on happy days, went directly into joanie and chachie, then he went right into Charles In Charge too I believe, in which I never watched CIC haha..

I always liked Ralph a lot better than Postie and would have preferred to seem him on L&S. Potsie was the TV Geek of all time-lol
Wreckless 05-29-2008, 07:43 PM I always liked Ralph a lot better than Postie and would have preferred to seem him on L&S. Potsie was the TV Geek of all time-lol
yeah true lol...did anybody notice or was it just me, that as the seasons progressed into the next and Potsie was still on the show as a main character without Richie and Ralph, that his total nerdy personality kind of faded out, more so just leveled out so he was still goofy but more series and not as dumb in his decisions? I base that primarily off of watching Season 11/the final season when watching it, maybe it was just me, i dunno..
Ireneparalegal 05-29-2008, 07:49 PM Potsie was the TV Geek of all time-lol
He ended up a geek. He did not start out that way. He was level-headed in the beginning. I hate how they turned him into such a goofball. That is why I prefer the first two seasons of HD overall.
Wreckless 05-29-2008, 08:44 PM ^ I actually think opposite, he was goofy but funny, then still corny in the beginning of the show's run, then as I posted earlier, to me I believed he grew a tad bit mature, but more so just level headed, instead of making corny, random or funny decisions...that's just me tho
Ireneparalegal 05-29-2008, 08:48 PM ^^^I compare the early Potsie to the character of Eddie Haskell on Leave It To Beaver. Potsie would get Richie in on some idea (joining the Demons, getting into the strip joint, etc). The later Potsie seemed more of a dork, as if he had no idea of how to even lead an idea.
Wreckless 05-29-2008, 08:50 PM That is true, the early Potsie was sort of adventurous..more so just wanting to get into everything with his best pal Richie, and occasionally Malph would tag along, dumbfounded lol...But I still think Potsie was funny at the show's end but not as hyper, but you have a good point their...
Ireneparalegal 05-29-2008, 08:55 PM Isn't it funny how Potsie and Richie were the two who hung out together mostly in the beginning and then later on it was Potsie and Ralph who ended up being together, even roommates?

I have to agree with that. Virtually all the guys were nice guys. They didn't try to hurt anyone or be mean to anyone until push came to shove. ;)

Wreckless 05-30-2008, 12:58 AM Yeah it was funny, Irene.. Potsie and Ralph always tagged along with each other, up until Ralph's departure. Their relationship was a thin line between kinfolk and friends, it was interesting.
