"In classic drama you had the Greek chorus, the people that stood off to the side and commented on what was happening onstage. They would be the connection to the audience. So George and I referred to each other as the 'geek chorus.' We were the ones commenting on life."-John Ratzenberger (Stay Tuned Television's Unforgettable Moments)

"And I think that a large part, in a large part it had to do with how the writers of our show grew up reading books, not watching television. It made a big difference in thewriting and the way the characters were developed. They weren't old story lines that you've already seen on old TV shows. It's really remarkable."-John Ratzenberger (Stay Tuned Television's Unforgettable Moments)

These quotes came form a book about Unforgettable Moments in Television. I just thought I'd share.

One quote I am particulalry fond of from John is this one: "The characters on Cheers all had their own octaves, their own instruments. If you looked at it as a jazz combo, it was a perfect jazz combo. They're all different instruments that just blended together so perfectly" I cant remember the source of the quote, whether it be E! True Hollywood story or whatnot, but being a musician and a big Cheers fan, I love this quote!!
