Over the last couple of years we've been wondering about the fact that Mr. Dick Van Dyke has never been nominated for a Kennedy Center Honor Award... :o

Don't you think that nomination's a bit overdue too?

I therefore dare to ask you ALL to bring DVD fans (and friends and families!) to sign:
http://www.petitiononline.com/DVDKCH03/petition.html in order to show your support for a wonderful entertainer.

Thank you for reading! And...
Happy New Year!

He and many others like James Garner are way over due.

And sadly, now it's too late for James Garner. :(

I know and he should have gotten it earlier. I hope it's not too late for Jerry Lewis, Gene Hackman, Al Pachino, Woody Allen, Stephen Scharwtz, Charles Strouse, Liza Minelli, Doris Day, Rita Moreno and Bernadette Peters.

Don't hold your breath. There are way too many obscure black entertainers ahead of them.

Don't know if it's true or not but I read on another board that Doris Day was supposed to be honored this year but would not travel to Washington to receive the award.

Why not?

She's basically a recluse and is rarely ever seen in public.
