Why did the show move from Milwaukee to California?

The writers decided that Laverne & Shirley were to be fired from the brewery, and they figured they wanted to move to California for new stories lines, since they weren't doing so well in the ratings, so they let the characters Laverne & Shirley pack their bags and move to California to improve the shows premise.

And all that did not work. The show never returned to the top ten once the characters moved to California.

In other words, that was when it jumped the shark.

Yes. Youd think TV shows would know not to add new characters, change new things. They shouldve stayed the last few years in Milwaukee anyways!!!

I think it was stupid for them to move the show just because of ratings, lol. The reason the ratings fell was because of the time slot, not the actual show. They shouldn't have moved it from Tuesdays to Thursdays in 1979. *Shrug* Especially since it was the #1 show in America.

I do like California though. I think it opened up more possibilities and helped keep the show a little fresher. *Shrug*
