Saw in a used bookshop yesterday an autobiography book on Mike Douglas. No pics of Freddie in it but it had him remembering Freddie in there. He said after Freddie died & Tony Orlando has his nervous breakdown that Tony made his first appearance back on tv on his show. He said Tony said Freddie used to talk about wanting to die & had wanted to die to become a bigger legend than he was. He used to pretend to shoot himself with the gun in front of Tony etc. He even told Tony he had picked out already who he wanted as his pallbearers. As pallbearers he wanted Tony, Paul Williams, David Brenner, Richard Pryor & forget who else. So sad... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif I would have loved to have seen that episode of the Mike Douglas show... Didn't buy the book as I was low on bread...

Hey Cheryl, I had gotten Mike Douglas's book from the library a while back. It really did not say all that much about Freddie in it. I was disappointed too about no pictures of Freddie in it either. I wouldn't worry too much about not having this one in your Freddie collection. Did you get the book Too Young to Die. My gosh I was shocked to see that one surface. I bought that book, or I should say one of my parents bought it for me, when I was 17 years old. That's an oldie----so am I..

You know Cheryl........ If Freddie wanted to die, like Tony said he did. Why didn't he help out his friend and seek help for him? Some friend....... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif

I agree with ya'll. From what I read Tony had some big problems. It's all so sad.... I have the TOO YOUNG TO DIE BOOK. My hubby & I found it at BOOKS A MILLION while back. If folks want it they might try there. It was interesting & nice pic of him with it. I wasn't too worried about getting the Mike Douglas book cuz there were not pics of Freddie in it & mostly talked about Tony Orlando talking about Freddie. What did Mike Douglas think of Freddie? I'd love to know...

I agree....With this preoccupation with death, Freddie was showing signs, loud and clear, that he had a serious problem, and ya don't have to be a medical professional to figure it out!
