The Dick Clark-Hosted New Year’s Telecast Beats Nearly
Every Primetime Program of the Week in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” Outdelivers Combined Performances of NBC, CBS and Fox

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve – Part 1” (11:35 p.m. -12:30 a.m.):

ABC’s broadcast of the 2003 edition of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” attracted 19.31 million total viewers on average, 9.32 million Adults 18-49 and 9.74 million Adults 25-54.

· Although the program aired after primetime, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” outperformed all but one network primetime entertainment program for the week of December 30, 2002, in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 (behind only CBS’ “CSI”).
· Head-to-head against its network competition, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” bettered the combined audiences of NBC’s “Jay Leno,” CBS’ “David Letterman” and Fox’s “America’s Party” by 24% in Total Viewers (19.31 million vs. 15.63 million – NBC, CBS and Fox combined), by 33% among Adults 18-49 (9.32 million vs. 7.03 million) and by 26% among Adults 25-54 (9.74 million vs. 7.76 million).
