I'm sorry if this sounds like bragging but I am sooo excited! I hope you all aren't too jealous of me but if you are I understand. I saw up for auction on the internet, Freddie's autograph & at the really low price of just $7.99! I'd never seen it that cheap before. I'd only seen it for sale on the internet a few times & those times it was $50 or more. This is no fancy autograph just a cutout scrap piece of paper with his signature but still his autograph anyway. I bid on it & had the top bid on it! I was excited. But I nearly had my heart broken right into LOL!
The nite before the auction was to end some strange person who I'd never seen on any of the CATM/ Freddie sites bid on it & outbid me on it. I was crushed. I suspected they weren't even a fan but someone who was just collecting autographs of old stars. So I looked up to see what they were bidding on & they were bidding on autographs of stars & memorabilia from movies like props etc. That confirmed my suspicions. I figured they either were into buying autographs of stars at cheap deals or either trying to buy stars autographs cheap & then reselling them for more profit. I tried to outbid them but they kept out bidding me http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif Then another strange person who I'd never seen on any CATM/Freddie sites bid on it outbidding over the first outbidders bid. Yikes! I looked up to see what they were bidding on & they were bidding on autographs of stars & memorabilia from movies like props etc. too. So that confirmed my suspicions that they weren't a fan probably but were wanting it just cuz it's a good deal on a dead celebrities autograph. If they turn out to be fans then sorry for saying they weren't LOL!
You think they'd see that a woman had bid on it & knowing how sexy Freddie is & how popular he is with women they'd realize hey this is a fan of his & they want it really bad & we should let them have it cuz they really need it but nooo they just gotta outbid someone who really wants it & drive up the price. The story almost had a sad ending but it has a happy ending. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif I pleaded to my hubby & he was sweet enough to tell me the most we could afford for it was $20. So I bid that & not enough. He told me I could go up to $21, not enough, then $22, not enough then 23 , not enough & then said the most we could possibly afford was $24. Fortunately that was enough & I won the auction on it! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif For $24-- Yikes! We may at the end of the month be eating dirt & water LOL! Got any good recipes on how to turn dirt & water into food LOL? http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif
My hubby was so sweet to let me get it. He's been good about my Mid-life crisis which is Freddie. But then again I think he was tired about hearing me complain about me being outbid on the autograph LOL! I also think he was afraid I'd be in a bad mood if I didn't get it LOL!
I do feel kinda bad tho cuz I had seen where HUE-MEE from the boards had bid on a another Freddie autograph & had the high bid & then some strange person whose not on any CATM/Freddie sites out bid them & she lost the bid. I feel really sorry for her. I was sooo rooting for her. The one she bid on was nicer than mine. It was in a nice frame with a nice picture of him. But hey I'm getting his autograph! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif I have already decided where I am gonna display my autograph. I had bought over internet auction a nice B&W 8 by 10 pic of Chico & Ed Brown to put in a frame & hang up in my den. I don't normally buy those type pics of him over the internet just the magazine ones or magazines cuz I can't afford to buy everything on him & I can always save the pics on my puter to print out or do whatever with. Anyway, I have the pic of Chico & Ed in a frame hanging on the wall in my den. So I'm gonna stick my autograph in the picture frame in front of Ed (don't want to cover up Chico). It'll cover some of Ed's sweater but it can't be helped.
When it comes my hubby is gonna see it's a 3 by 5 size cutout piece of paper with just Freddie Prinze scrawled on it & say we paid $24 for that? But The Prinze signed it! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Sorry to ramble on but I was so excited & had to share! A scan of it will go on my site! Whenever that gets done LOL!
I asked the seller the history of it as to where it was gotten at & who got it & the story behind it etc. They don't know. All they know is that they got it from a reputable dealer.
