From TCA's Winter Tour:
HBO has officially announced that "Sex and the City's" upcoming sixth season will indeed be its last. The good news however is that 20 episodes will be shot for its final season, the most it has produced for any season to date. 12 segments will air this summer with the remaining eight starting in January 2004. With the exit of "Sex" and the presumed final season of "The Sopranos" in the near future, you'd think HBO would be worried about its original programming future. That's not the case as the pay cable channel has quite an impressive slate for the rest of the year and 2004: season three of "Six Feet Under"; new seasons of "The Wire," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Project Greenlight"; as well as the launch of David Milch's "Deadwood," Steven Bochco and Alison Cross' "Marriage," and "Carnivale."
