What does everyone think of Fonzie always saying to God, I thought I was your favorite person? Or I am your favorite person? I think there were a couple of eps., where he said that like in the ep. where he goes blind. I think its kinda funny and maybe in the Happy Days world Fonz is the good lord's favorite person, but in real life I've heard God loves everyone and does'nt have a favorite. Maybe Fonz thinks this because he's so cool, and wonderful with ladies. There's probably others who think this too in reality, but I think God loves everyone and does'nt have a favorite, whether people are good or not. Its kinda funny when Fonz says it, and sweet too. It shows he respects the good lord. :)

I can't believe it I'm in love with Richie, and I'm talking about Fonzie! :rotflmao:

Aha, someone's picked up on this...

In several eps, Fonzie speaks to God, and once or twice, has even referred to himself as the man upstairs' favorite person. It's just another way in which Fonzie differentiates himself from everyone else on the show.

I agree that your Sunday School teacher will most likely tell you that God doesn't play favorites, which, it's safe to assume, in the Happy Days world, he doesn't either. But maybe the Fonz is just up there on his list. :)

P.S. thanks to everyone for not getting into a huffy religious debate. Message boards are often run rampant by that junk when a topic such as this comes up. Bleh.

I certainly agree that God would play favorites. I think Fonzie was speaking in jest when he spoke in those terms!

God doesn't play faves. But he gave Fonzie extraordinary qualities. Fonzie maybe thought he was God's fave because he had the ability to make the juke box come on and punch his hand thru doors.

Hmmmm.....did someone mention Sunday School teachers? It just so happens that I spent approx. 2.5 years as a Sunday School teacher. That was an extremely rewarding experience, and I've still got some pretty close connections with my old students. They know when they see me that I want to know ALL about them and what kinds of mischief they've been getting into. But, I'm getting off the topic again.

Is Fonzie God's favorite? I think that's like asking, "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" Though, it's true that God doesn't play favorites, Fonzie is always the exception to every rule. I think what's important is that Fonzie THINKS that he is God's favorite and that gives us an interesting insight to this leather-jacketed man. He is so conceited and full of himself at times, and yet he is the most wonderful, thoughtful person in the world. He is an oxymoron in and of himself. Now, I ask you, if Fonzie is not actually God's favorite, which one of you is bold enough to tell him so? I certainly would never hurt the guy like that. :(

You're right. The whole idea of getting maimed isn't very appealing either.
