I was on the internet on cnn.com and there was this article about Pedophilia that pretty much made me throw up.

I don't get it. What is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO interesting in child porn? I am bisexual, and i would NEVER think of even doing anything like that. I mean who is sick enough to lure a little boy or girl to this guy's car and take them to their house and rape and kill them. That's sick.

And worst of all is child porn on the net, I mean come on! I like to look at full grown developed individuals, not some 2 day old baby that some guy wants to rape.

Didn't Pee-wee herman get arrested for child porn?

I just had to post my opinion. I love gay people, I just hate it when they go and stalk little children and rape/kill them. That just makes me want to throw up. I would rather go be shot dead if I was forced to look at a little child. Ugh.........

I think we have classified Homosexuals and Pedophiles in the same categlories for to long.

While it is true that there is no fight going on this topic is very sickening. Child pornography (or possesion of it) and pedophilia are illegal. It doesn't always take a fight to constitute a closed or deleted thread. Take a look at Brett Ferrino's locked threads a page or two back and you'll see what I mean.

Theres no fights going on..I see no reason to close it or delete it. (Child) Pornagraphy is gross, but its still around. Its on the news, the internet, everywhere. It isnt like anyone here said they LIKE it and are showing pics of it.. its a topic about it. You cant avoid every bad thing in life, so closing or deleting this thread would be pointless.

Yea, it was a digusting topic to bring up, but deleting threads of this kind is kinda dumb. I mean they're been threads about people talking about 'How do you tell if your a virgin' or 'Have you had sex yet.' I'm not saying those are bad or anything, so don't get mad at me if you think I'm singling you out, I'm just saying there should be room to comment on it, even though I don't think many people would.

I am not making any excuses but I did live close to David Westerfield and you probably know about all the child pornography he possessed and his murder of 7 year old Danielle Van Dam. Actually you are correct about that. Here in Florida he was caught inside of an adult theater playing with a "thing" in public. CBS was scheduled to air 5 more eps of "Pee Wees Playhouse" but pulled the plug immediately. I agreed with their decision. Didn't he know what was at stake when he was doing that? Oh, well, the shows were reruns anyway that aired as new during the beginning of his final season.

Now, just recently, there is a new charge against him in the child porn department. I posted earlier where I think that case stands. If he has been used for someones ego gratification I hope that whomever is responsible for that gets into as much hot water as Pee Wee would if he turns out to be guilty.

I don't think it's bad to talk about it (within reason, of course). There are probably a lot of people here who have been affected by it, and with the tons of use of the internet, the child porn thing is nearly inescapable...:rolleyes:

A pedophile is someone who is attracted to children whp have yet to go through pueberty (mostly because they have that certain innosence that adult women do not have) but that doesn't mean that they'll go out and molest them. A child molester is someone who has sex with children. The majority of pedophiles don't. If you do, then you aren't a pedophile. You are a child molester. True, they aren't the same thing. Child Molestation is a crime. Pedophila is a mental disorder. But pedophiles can commit the crime of child molestation, so someone can be BOTH.

I definately don't have any sympathy for a pedophile, or someone who collects child pornography. It is a sickness. However, I've seen quite a bit of child nudity on Russian and Ukrainian television when I was visiting over there last year. A lot of people consider that as art. That's a BIG controversial topic to a lot of people. :eek:

That's true also but once a pedophile go through with his fantasies, he's a child molester. I guess I'm very very, liberal when it comes to this subject. I'm totally against child molestation. It's gross, sickening and saddening. However, fantasizing and finding little girls attractive (I certainly see the appeal) doesn't really bother me, as long as they don't go and act out those fantasies, it's perfectly (ok, maybe not perfectly) fine.

Yes, he's a child molester, but he's STILL a pedophile. He still has the mental disorder after the crime. I agree when you say the two are different, but they can still go hand-in-hand.

I agree with you. Their is nothing ok about those fantasies.

I agree that it is disgusting. Thinking about this subject makes me nauseated. What I don't understand is why one type of porn is legal and one isn't. All of it should be illegal, it used to be called "indecency" to look at people naked; but of course, that is a "standard", and WHO ARE WE to impose standards upon people? :rolleyes: A lot of liberals want cigarettes to be made illegal because it's a proven fact they can kill people. I say porn needs to be made illegal because in almost every rape case, the rapist starts out looking at porn, and when that loses its excitement, he has to go experience it for himself. So, as cigarettes lead to death (in many cases), porn leads to rape (in many cases); they should both be outlawed. Some people smoke like a chimney their whole lives and don't die, and some people look at porn and don't go rape, but I don't care, it should still be illegal.

Porn for adults, regular porn - hey to each his own. My boyfriend has a large collection of it. Doesn't bother me. there are no kids involved, the people are of age - nothing wrong with that.

There is everything wrong with anything that involves minors.

There is a big BIG difference.

My 2 cents:

There are females who commit child molestation too, it is not a behavior that is exclusive to males. The movie Antwone Fisher has an example of this and I have met women and men who were traumatized by adult females' sexual advances when they were kids.

In the past the nudity of children was considered innocent. I have even seen it it feature films made in this country: The Learning Tree from 1969 is one. Also looking at the Little Rascals which is from the 20s-40s the little girls wore dresses that were so short their underwear was showing, yet this was considered to be a more conservative time in American history.

Adults who sexually desire children who haven't even hit puberty need to submit to therapy to work through these emotions because I think they are irregular. However, when people express revulsion, horror and rage at this topic it drives these individuals into going underground with their desires and can drive and make the situation worse. I think those of us who are shocked and outraged need to calm down a bit because we all have things wrong with us.
