Oh, yeah! Great scenery. Out here in the San Fernando Valley, there are mountains all around, in all directions. The higher peaks are snow-covered in winter. Well, you do have the benefit of not having to worry about earthquakes. Those are scary, especially when they are above magnitude 5. (Someday I'll post a few earthquake pics from the '94 Northridge quake.) There are also quite a few fires every year as you've probably seen on the news.

Incidentally, I've been keeping a record of the high and low temps. in my town since 1982 (high temps. only since 1980). I would have to check my records, but from memory the highest was 112-114 degrees and the lowest 28 degrees.
