Here is a template letter I made to send your request into your local TV station to get "Small Wonder" on the air. Feel free to use it when requesting this show to your local station! Thanks and good luck on your endeavour!

Joey Bear

==============================================

My name is _________________ and I currently reside in _______________, ____________. I watch your station a lot, especially "_______________" and "______________". However, I would would like to take this opportunity to propose a change to your line-up. I propose adding a show from the 1980's--"Small Wonder".

A quick premise: the show featured a girl robot named Vicki and was adopted by the Lawsons. More information about the series and a detailed premise can be found at http://www.smallwonder.tv (recently awarded and praised by Tech TV). "Small Wonder" was originally aired from 1985 to 1989 and was shown by the Fox network and produced by Metromedia.

I think your station could gain a very big audience base (and generate a substantial cash flow) with this show, as there are many people in the ______________ and surrounding areas who were fans during the original run of the series and is a very good family-oriented show for all types of audiences and key demographics.

It was, during the original run, one of the top rated (no less than #4) shows in the nation and remined so for the entire run of the series. It earned an average of a "7" national rating when the show was abruptly ended in April, 1989.

I, for one, would make it a point to watch this show on your station if you chose to air it. It is a very good show and I think that ____________ and the surrounding cities would benefit from your airing of this series.

Another station who is currently involved in re-running the series is KDOC in southern California. According to the information I have recieved, they are preparing to air "Small Wonder" this spring, to the delight of fans and loyal viewers in that area of the country.

I may or may not be alone in this belief but I do believe that this show would be a real benefit to you and your advertisers and loyal viewers. I have taken enough of your time. I wish to thank you for your consideration and your time.

Sincerely,

I may have misunderstood, but that is what I thought I heard. I could be wrong.

The show is not coming to KDOC-TV. It's not available for syndication at this time. I don't know when it's next cycle starts, but it's been a while!

Thanks for clearing that up.

BTW, do you when was the last time it aired on syndication?... The last time I saw was in 1996 on a FOX affiliate. (KTTV in L.A.)

Can I ask where your information comes from? I know the show meets syndication requirements (the 3 season rule). Why wouldn't it be available for airing? Just wondering. Thanks!

From KDOC. I know it is allowed to air on locals (it aired on WNYW here for many years), but there is a time when a syndicaytion cycle starts over and apparently there isn't enough interest for another syndication cycle to start, but I think in a year or two another cycle will start, it's about due now...

That sucks.

BTW, pavanbadal do you which sitcoms is KDOC planning to air?

They have kept Family Ties, Addams Family, Munters, and Roseanne for a second term.

Saved By The Bell has been there since early 2001.
