I remember watching Who's the Boss? as a kid, but I don't remember a little dark haired boy. I saw the rerun this morning on ABC Family and I was surprised to see him. Who is he and where did he come from?

His name is Billy. The storyline was that he was being raised by his grandmother, but she was to old to properly care for him. She asks Tony to raise him and he became part of the show for a short while. He didn't last too long and I'm not sure how they wrote him out.

They actually didn't write him out. He just stopped being on the show.

The boy's name was Jonathan Haylakar. He was 6 when he started the show & I saw on a WTB special that Judith Light (aka Angela) said he was tired all the time so they let him go. Those episodes were gr8, though I wish Billy was there more often. :)

In the storyline Billy, the little cutie pie :) , left because his grandmother got better.

Thanks, tiff7 for explaining why he left the show. I always wondered and came up with my own, less favorable conclusion. I guess he remained tired because he hasn't done much since. Wonder what he's up to now.

If memory serves me right, back in the day when "Regis and Kathie Lee" was just shown in NY, there was a "talent contest" week for kids, and the Billy actor sang so wonderfully that he was "discovered" and put on WTB as Billy to raise the "Cuteness" factor, being that Johnathan and Sam were growing up......anyway, it was apparent that Billy was "stealing" Tony away from his scenes with Angela, which was moving the show away from the Tony/Angela dynamics, and the poor kid was travelling between his home in NYC and Hollywood on a constant basis....I get tired just thinking about that!! But Billy was a sweetheart on the show.
