Movies he directed? Of his 8 stints as director here is my ranking:

1. Sixteen Candles
All around great comedy. Classic characters, lines, music, and the right atmosphere of fun. Really captures the high school feel of the 1980's.

2. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Steve Martin and John Candy in some classic predicaments.
A little sappy at the end, but actually for the better.

3. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Who didn't want to be Matthew Broderick in this flick?
Too serious at the end (Hughes!!), but not enough to mar all the fun you had.

4. -5. Weird Science and Uncle Buck (tie)
I love Weird Science just for Anthony Michael Hall's performance and great lines and Uncle Buck is a showcase for the underappreciated John Candy (again sentimental at the end!) .

6. Breakfast Club
Time has not been good to this movie, though I loved it when it came out. A product of its age, and not always for the best (dated as opposed to the timeless Sixteen Candles).

7. She's Having a Baby
Was never into this movie.

8. Curley Sue
Two words: oh boy.
